Labradoodle & Goldendoodle Forum

Between getting to know everyone with Yappy Hour and the game of 3 truths and one lie, there is so much to learn about everyone and there are some really interesting and talented people on DK. I would love to know some of the vital statistics like: Age, Married, Children, their ages, professions, hobbies, a dream or goal you have before you get too old to do it. Things that aren't on our profile page already. With all the photos of ourselves we can now put the whole picture of the DK member together.

I'll start:

I am 57 and have been married to my highschool sweetheart for 39 years this May. We have two grown children, Michele 36 and Erik 30 who are both married and live nearby in Az. We have one grandson, Ethan,20 months old, who is my sunshine. I am a Labor and Delivery Nurse, somewhat semi retired and DH is a retired Fire Fighter. I love to make quilts and give one to every family member and so far have about 16 done and about 23 to go. I love to run, work out, be outdoors, garden, read, and spend time with family and doodles. One of my biggest goals is to hike the Grand Canyon rim to rim and also to see Europe someday. Other than that, my dream of being a mom and grandmother is being realized every day.

How about you?

That is very nice of you to say, thank you. :-) And I don't blame DH. They make it so easy to just read and read.
Camilla ~ As I think about our conversations - I remember one - at least I think it was you... "you" were concerned about your parents not welcoming Darwin? in their home... it was quite a while ago around Christmas time I think... WAS that YOU????  I think it was as that was when I realized you were inded younger... but I agree SO very mature!!!  You seem like a genuinely NICE person!!!
Yes, that was me. And I do try to be understanding about the situation, I try really hard. :-) I get frustrated at times but I realize that not everyone has to like dogs... I try to be a reasonable person. Thank you very much for saying I'm a nice person. I really try to be!

Camilla -- I agree with everyone else that you sound wise beyond your years in your posts and comments.

My parents -- who adore dogs and have two of their own - do not let me bring my dog (soon to be dogs) over because my dad's standard poodle is so territorial.  It annoys me that he isn't making an effort to work on this or work with his dog more so that I could bring Sammy with me and thus what has happened instead is that in the past year (since we've had Sam) we just don't go spend time over there nearly as much.  But on the up side, I suppose, they do come hang out at my house more which sometimes is kind of a fun change. :)  Good luck with getting your parents to come around -- Darwin just seems too cute to resist!

Wow Camilla, you are even younger than I thought.  Somewhere during Yappy Hour I got the impression you were 23!!!  But, as I have said many times there in Yappy Hour...you are still just a baby!!  ha ha

Just remember that you asked!  LOL.  I'm turning 54 this June, I'm having a difficult time understanding how this can be true because other than wrinkles and lots of aches and pains - I still feel pretty young!  I live in the Twilight Zone - aka - Florida or as my daughter says - the gateway to heaven (for all you youngsters - that means the last stop before you die).  It is a strange place for me to live as my husband isn't here all that much, nor has he retired.  This is one of the few places where I feel kinda on the younger side.  I love to travel and have been to some wonderful places all over the globe, I've cut back now that the TSA wants to see my ASS.  My dh and I have been married for 17 years and between us we have 5 children with the youngest both being 27.  All are educated, employed and doing well - no one's been to prison.  I like to play golf (badly) and bake (really well) this is why I have a weight problem.  I love to read and am totally taken with my Nook although I don't read as much now that I have Rooney - he takes up most of my time.  I got Rooney after growing weary of threatening my children that I was going to adopt a grandchild, now I've told them to never mind - I'll spend my money on the doodle.

I do hope you all get that this was done tongue in cheek ;)
I got it, and loved it. :-) Good to learn more about you and I love your humor.
My friend from grade school moved to FL a couple of years ago and she said, like you, she is the youngest person in her community. Rooney is one cute doodle!
Jane - I know what you mean about still feeling young. I feel like Im in my late 20's until yesterday. All I could do was laugh! I was in the car with my 16 yr old who just got her permit. She was driving & put her ipod on. I told her I just couldnt listen to her head-banging music & she says to find the file on her ipod that says "oldies" & what starts playing are all my great '80's music. Oldies my ---!
Caitlin - I think you sound like my daughter and stepdaughter - smart, educated and with drive!  I'm sure with your being a pharmacist - the travel will come.  You and Albus are lucky to have each other!!!
Very impressive Caitlin. You will get to do that traveling.
