Labradoodle & Goldendoodle Forum

Okay, I know I should have waited until Halloween to post his but I came across a sheepdog forum on the internet where somebody asked if their dog was seeing a ghost. Now, I personally, have never had an experience with Huff seeing ghosts. I have seen some things that I think are ghosts. when we were moving my grandma into her new house we were taking a break and having some pizza. Out of the corner of my eye, I saw a young man standing in an olive green tank top with dark hair. I looked, and nothing was there. Mind trick? Ghost? Have you ever had a ghostly experience? Has your doodle (or any other pet) ever had a ghostly experience?

Okay here is a for instance with young children and ghosts/spirits.

My husbands cousin's son was 3 years old, Grandma was in the hospital bed in the living room...she was very ill and people were there to take care of her and also to visit. The little guy looked at him Mom and said, "the angel is talking to GG (great grandma), Mom said really honey, now?, he said yes look and pointed to GG. At that moment she passed. Chills?

oh that is a little creepy but also in a way kind of sweet:)
Daisy that is very interesting, my nieces 5 year old was sitting in the family room talking, and my niece said who are u talking to?..she said I am talking to Alex, don't u see him Mommy..My niece asked her what he looked like and she described my father exactly.  Now she had never seen him, never even heard his name.  My niece was a little apprehensive and shrugged it off.  When my niece and her daughter came to visit, I showed her a picture of our family taken quite a while ago, she said and I quote, " Mommy, thats Alex, look in the picture, thats him."Alex was my father,  my nieces grandfather, and he died several years before this little girl was born. And yes his name was Alex. So yes I absolutely believe that ghosts or angels do surround us...
Personally, I think ghosts, spirits and angels are all around. I am absolutely certain my daughter saw her grandfather that had passed the year before she was born when she was 2 years old. I completely believe that there are ghosts in spirits in many houses and buildings. I like to think that they live along side ofmus, not in a scary way. My friend swears her dog has a
spirit friend in their house - the dog will get all excited like someone is petting him and no one is. Or he will walk in a room and run to nothing and act like he is jumping on someone. He doesn't do it anywhere but home. :-)
whoa about the dog acting like he is jumping on something! Have you seen him do it?
I havn't actually seen a ghost...but I have had spritual experiences.  My mom died on christmas Day 3 yrs ago...she had been ill for about 2 yrs...in and out of the hospital and was living in a nursing home due to her illness.  We were very close...I visited her everyday and worried about her constantly during this illness.  I loved her dearly.  The day after she died...my 2 sisters, my brother and I met at the funeral home to make arrangements.  I was alone...I parked my car and turned off the engine....before I could get out of the car...an overwhelming smell of flowers came about me.  I looked in the back seat thinking...did I bring flowers in here?  The smell was so strong...I could not have been imagining it.  Then all of a sudden the smell was gone.  I opened the car door and walked into that funeral home knowing that it was a sign from mom that she was OK.  My siblings thought I was nuts...but I knew it was a sign.
When my older daughter (now almost 10) was about 3, one night while I was tucking her in told me "mommy, I saw a man in this room wearing white clothes." Freaked me out as you can imagine. I would like to think it was her imagination but had a hard time convincing myself that because she was always very clear when she had pretend friends. In this case she insisted it was real.
I believe in this sort of thing but I have not experienced it. Wow Huff -if you see a ghost I'll be worried!
My Siamese cat growing up I am convinced saw ghosts. She would sit in one corner of my bedroom look up at the ceiling and make this meow shriek sound that would send chills. I really believe to this day she was protecting me as a young child from something not quite right in that corner of the room.

Well so far no non believers have chimed in here have they?? I guess they seen the topic and didn't bother joining. I am also a believer and have had my own experiences. One ghost one and one near death experience.

I will start with the ghost. I have often felt something but this was the only time I saw something. I was living in a room while going to college out of town in an East Indian household. (important to the story) I had been staying in one room but once they got to know me they offered me to stay in their daughters room with the bigger better bed instead of the small single room. They were a middle aged couple with no children living in the home. They had been away for choir practice in the evening and I had the house to myself. They arrived home shortly after nine. I saw them and they did not bring anyone home. I stayed in my room doing homework till likely 11 ish. I went to bed that night but woke up in the middle of the night with that familiar feeling I had in the past that someone was in the room. I laid there for awhile pretending to be asleep with my eyes closed. I was scared because I was sexually abused as a child and was worried that one of their sons had come home and....when it wasn't going away I peeked and saw a figure at the doorway. I opened my eyes with out moving and it was definitely a tall grey haired older man with a sturdy build but not defined that I knew who it was right off. I immediately got the feeling that something was wrong with my grandfather. The first older tall grey haired man I thought of. Now realizing that there was no other white people except me in the house it wasn't one of their family! First thing in the morning I asked to use their phone for long distance and I called my gramma to see if grandpa was ok. Grandpa was fine. BUT My great uncle had died the night before. They were driving home from vacation and were actually closer to me where I was staying than the rest of the family. He passed in the hotel room in his sleep. This uncle and aunt where my grandma's sisters husband and they used to take us in for weekends when we needed a place to stay as kids.(our parents were good at finding us places to stay or get rid of us so they could party.) I don't think the physical distance made me more available to visit but do think that certain people have a thinner cloud to get thru from heaven than others.

I also have had the feeling I was being watched while alone in my house. Not through the windows but behind me. Several times especially after I was first married and in my own home. I would also get the frequent smell of cigars and no one smoked. I hadn't really discussed this with anyone but one day I was talking with my grandma saying I think my great grampa is near me and she said that her sister had called and told her all about my cousin who had been visited and spoken to by my great grandfather recently as well. Gramma isn't the one to believe in this sort of thing but apparently her dad had believed to some extent as he had consulted a very prominent famous psychic when someone stole his chickens! My cousin had the phone ring and it was my grandfather on the other end!! He was driving and looked in the rearview and there he was. The similarity was that each time he could smell the cigar smoke as well. He was not interested in speaking with him and was very afraid of him. He didn't know him in life as he was born and lived in another country only to visit once a year at most. They never had a relationship. The belief came when my cousin told his mother what grampa had told him about her and it turned out that only she and the other person involved ever knew that. Before that he swore someone was crank calling him. It stopped for me after that.

I had my gramma die and had always been extremely close to her and my heart physically shattered when she died. I knew she was going to die the day before when I walked out her door. She said goodbye and that I had better head home. She never told me to go and never said goodbye. I stopped at the door. I went back and hugged her and her roomate said who is comforting who over there! As gramma was acting like she was comforting me instead of it being the other way around. She rubbed my back, something we always loved. Yet she was in pain.  She died later that night suddenly and unexpectedly. I had always told her that she had to come back to tell me she was ok when we ever talked about stuff like how much I loved her. She always said why would I come back to see you when I am going to be seeing so many people who I haven't seen in years and my husband (who died at a young 65) don't you think I'll be a bit busy catching up?! So after she died I PINED for her to visit and missed her so much. She never came until one night many months later when I had a very specific dream about her . I woke up absolutely KNOWING that she had said hi, I'm fine.

I am starting another reply to tell you about my next freaky event that is only explainable to me as life after death and pshycic ability.

My next freaky event starts with a young boy having croup.

My youngest son was a year and a half and had been sick one day. My husband was away that evening at a meeting, these meetings are held in different towns throughout our area and I never pay attention or ask where each one is. As the evening fell my son who was fevered and having trouble breathing was getting worse not better. I called my gramma and aunt to come and look after the other two boys while I took him to our Dr. I drove across town to the dr's and he said that he had to go directly to the hospital about 20 min away as he had croup and needed a breathing treatment. It was a cold winter night out. He had gotten better on the drive to the dr and the dr had said that the cool air was making it easier for him to breath. So he let us drive to the er and told me not to turn the car heat up for the ride. When we got to the er he was fine. Perky enjoying a road trip with mom all by himself and playing cute for everyone he saw. But very shortly after arriving in the waiting area the dry heat of an overheated hospital started to close off his breathing again. By that time they took us back to the assessment room and the pediatric specialist was there and ordered a treatment of inhalants as well as an injection to open up his airways. She admitted him with very specific instructions for the nurses. When we got up to the ward he was feeling much better but was still hot and fevered. It was close to bed time for the other babies in the ward and their moms so the lights were dimmed with some in their cribs and some being rocked by the moms. We were supposed to be admitted to the crib directly in front of the nurses station infront of a large window with full view of him. We were put in the farthest crib away as the nurse was busy and didn't have time to shuffle furniture. I undressed him and sat in the rocking chair with him laying across me facing my chest. He was quite warm. It was later on and I kept asking the other mothers, are his eyes closed as I couldn't see his face without moving and possible disturbing him if he had fallen asleep They kept saying no thier not. I KEPT rocking. After thinking that he hadn't gone to sleep because several queries to the others about his eyes were replied no not yet. I KEPT Rocking. Finally He was starting to FEEL cold. I was happy as I THOUGHT that the fever had broke and he was getting well. I said the the other mothers well I have to get him dressed again whether he's still awake or not, he's feeling too cold. I got up to lay him down in the crib at the same time the nurse came back for the FIRST TIME, she was told to check frequently, I knew she was busy and didn't think anything of it. When I laid him down he stared straight up and was not reacting. She ran out of the room and called a code. I was trying to wake him but he wasn't responding actually he was posturing at that point, a sign of oxygen deprivation. The respiratory therapists ran in and started to work on him I knew this was it and I HAD to get his dad here now before he was gone. I ran to the desk and called home to see if my husband was home or had called. He hadn't. I hadn't tryed to get ahold of him before I left. Out of the blue I called a restaurant in one of the towns they have meetings in and they were there. I told him to get to the stratford hospital asap Cody is in trouble. He got there in 20 min from a 45 min drive.

I went back to my son and they had still been working on him and by that time the dr had showed up as well. They told me to be mad with him or do anything that he would know that he was to respond. I had to yell at him Cody wake up Its time to get dressed blah blah whatever while they were slapping him. He slowly started to maeke a sad face and almost cry because I was yelling at him and he stuttered out MOOOOOMMMY like he didn't know why I was mad at him. Then the dr went off on the nurse. Brian ran in the room to a wide awake boy and a wild wife and a shocked room full of moms who were all holding their babies as close as possible at that point whether they had been in cribs or not! He is in university and 20years old now Thank GOD.

soooo about a year or more later one morning I was sitting on the toilet getting ready for work by putting my earrings in at the same time when he wandered in and said mom does that hurt to put them in. and I told him no. And out he comes with IT DOESN'T HURT TO BE DIED EITHER MOMMY!! Chills went up my spine but I never let on. I said oh how would you know! He said I WAS DIED WHEN MY HEART STOPPED BEEPING. I said I don't think so and he said yes he was. I said well if you died what was it like in a your fibbing type of tone. He said I SAW MR GOD ( I always called God mr so they would realize how important he was when they were little and that God wasn't just some guys first name.) I said well what was it like then, He said HE IS A NICE GUY! IT IS BRIGHT IN HEAVEN. I said what do you mean bright? Like a candle? Or like a lightbulb? HE LOOKED UP RAISED HIS ARMS OUT AND SAID OH NO MOMMY IT IS BRIGHT LIKE THE SUN. All this while I sit stunned on the s******!@@@@@@@

This was not something we ever talked about because my husband never could seem to understand how close we were to losing him and thought I was just a freaked out mom. I never wanted to say how bad he was because I should have realized what was going on. The rocking masked the fact he wasn't breathing and his heart wasn't beating. The dim lights in the room disguised the fact that he was turning blue, hopefulness that he was getting better made me think him getting cold was a good sign. So he hadn't gotten the facts from me. We did not go to church and talk about our spirituality on a constant basis. Why would he just come out with that at that age when he shouldn't have even remembered that he was sick in the first place.

Then for about two years after that he became what can only be described as having physic episodes. Here is the most memorable one. One morning we were driving to preschool and me to work when without hearing tv or the news radio or anything he starts telling me that THEM KIDS GOT DIED LAST NIGHT. I said what kids and he said the DADDY WAS DRIVING AND THEY GOT DIED, I said did you have a bad dream and he said no  but the KIDS WERE BAD AND THE DADDY HIT A TREE AND THEY ALL GOT DIED. I said what do you mean the kids were bad and he said THE DADDY HAD TO TURN AROUND AND TELL THEM TO BE GOOD. I said Cody that is an awful dream. He just said no it wasn't. I left it. Later that day it was on the news that a local family of father and three kids had been killed the night before when their car left the road and hit a tree. No weather or other reason was found as to why on that flat piece of highway in good weather would it have happened. I knew it happened as soon as he was telling me the story the news just confirmed it. But to take it a step farther my aunt was so curious that we decided to go for a drive like we had often done and go by the crash site just to see what would happen. As we were driving down the road just like any other in the area out of the backseat he says randomly THATS WHERE THEM KIDS GOT DIED. We slowed down and said where and he said that TREE RIGHT THERE. From that side of the road and the orientation of the tree all it looked like was a crooked tree in the ditch, (It grew crooked not from the crash) Once we drove down the road and took a trip around the block and came back by it from the other side (where he also said there it is again, even though it was a different vantage point and we hadn't stopped the car or confirmed he was right in any way) It was obvious that it was the tree that was hit as the bark was all scraped off in one section.

This was the most remarkable instance of his ability that ever happened but it was a fairly regular occurrence for a year or two. He has no lasting affects and can't remember anything about any of this time. I think he thinks I am nuts to believe it possible.

Well I believe and your story is much the same as many I have heard or experienced through others.

I believe in Guardian Angels and Blessed Saints. There are so many reason too believe around you every day, most are obvious to me. My daughter has been in serious car accidents twice with not a scratch, totaled car once, I believe her Grandparents were watching over her.
