Should I add clapping to my list of socialization 'Things to do' with New Puppies?

This is how obsessed  I am with doodles and over the past few weeks have come to know lots of your gorgeous ones here on DK.  I woke up in the middle of the night and had a thought.  These Dogs are so beautiful looking that many of them can get jobs as the Dog in "Annie" or as a great 'Toto' in the "Wizard Of Oz" or indeed any other advertisements or media appearances.   Therefore I am thinking that all new puppy owners should add a large audience clapping hard to their list of things to socialize new puppies with.  Am I mad or what ???

lol you are too funny. Sonny was in an ad for Citi Bank. (it's my profile pic)  All he had to learn to do was give a high five and be able to sit and stay. They do recommend he be able to speak on command and to fetch.
Sure, I'd add it to the list....but I think it's safe to put it at the bottom. LOL

LOL...

Hi Nicky...

Not to worry...when you get your Beautiful Chocolate Boy home...you'll have so many things to do  with him...you'll be obsessed...in other ways!!

I agree...Doodles are beautiful...and they do draw a crowd!!

I can't be outside with Sasha without people coming over...asking what kind of dog she is...wanting to pet her...saying how beautiful she is......it's always quite a commotion!  lol...

As you know...we travel twice a month by car... a twelve hour drive each way...so that we can take Sasha with us.

"Everytime" I am taking Sasha for a walk to go potty...cars are coming over to see her...rolling their windows down...while she is  "doing her business mind you"  lol..,.and asking questions about her.. .Just had to come over to see the Big Polar Bear...Is she a Doodle??...  What A Beautiful Dog she is...etc..   It Is Quite Incredible...and took me a while to get use to.

So get ready for "A Lot Of Attention"...because you and your Chocolate Boy will get it!!

I do think that Doodles are not only Beautiful...but...are So Loving...have Such Great Personalities ...and bring So Much Love and Joy into your life!!

The time is almost here for your boy to be home!!  How exciting!!

OH....I can't wait until your puppy comes home!! You will be so involved with your doodle that you will not have time to be on here or dreaming about doodles! I can't believe your family doesn't know about your DK fetish!!!! Yes a nice thing to add to the list, but in the middle of the night???
LOL it's not night in Ireland!!!  4am is their noon time (4am was West Coast time)
You foreigners are always a little mad ;)  Juuuust kidding!  I think if and when a doodle gets cast in an on stage role, that doodle is probably mature, social, and well trained enough that they won't mind a clapping audience one bit.  Maybe a little overwhelming the 1st night but probably no big deal after.  Invite all your family and friends over for puppy's 1st outdoor potty and give puppy a standing ovation :)  Also kidding.
We clap in puppy class to help them adjust to the sound--but I am not sure why!
Nicky, I'd advise  you to get all the sleep you can these next few weeks and then you can take care of the applaud issue when he is rehearsing for his first Broadway appearance. LOL!!!
No clapping around a sleeping puppy though!  Clap only when he "pees and poops"  outside!!!  HUGE clapping for that with a treat and before you know it your gorgeous puppy will be completely trained.
Clapping is good - even if it only comes from proud doodle moms and dads. :-)
I am a little bit of an insomniac guys.  The last time I had a full nights sleep is about 30 years ago!.  If I get four hours that's great.  Thanks for all your fun replies to some light hearted banter.

Nicky, I am right there with you.... Insane!!! Just kidding... I actually banged on pots and pans when Jack was a baby, I guess it simulated cooking.. (something I don't do very often) I made a lot of loud noises, vacuumed, blow dried my hair, and always took him out when it thundered... To this day, nut job loves to go out in a good storm.

My mom is getting a doodle in August and she will be staying with me for the first few months.. I know we have a lot to do to socialize them and it is fun to think of all the crazy things we can do, I am so excited for you...

I think in general if they are used to loud noises it won't matter if it is a clap or thunder or loud music but IDK for sure
