I tried out a new groomer because the one we have used in the past closed down.  I love the new place and Brinkley loves to go to doggy day-care there... but we had a mix up in communication (I guess) and he was cut a lot shorter than I expected.  I knew that he needed to be shorter for the summer but I miss my floppy moppy doodle.  They cut his beard and his left eyelashes (not the right), and they really trimmed down his legs.  I love when his feet look like bear paws.

I talked to the owner and she was great about all of it... even offered us a free day of daycare.  I know they are new so I'm going to give them another chance.

Yeah, I did a similar thing to Sam...He looks cooler, temperature-wise, but I think he just looks so much better with his (as you say it) floppy moppy coat!  :-)

But doesn't he feel so great to pet and rub on?  Sam feels like velour!  He got cut about 2 weeks ago, and his curls are already starting to grow back in.  I'm looking forward to that.

Oh, and you mentioned that they cut your pup's beard.  They did that to Sam too.  That's the thing I will be sure and tell the groomer NOT to do.  I don't mind trimming it a bit, but he looks really goofy with out his adorable beard.

Hang in there.  The good news for us is:  it's only hair...it will grow back!  :-)

I told them not to cut the beard. I'm so sad that they didn't listen.  Brinkley was going to have a TV appearance in a few weeks b/c they wanted his mop top on the show (I produce a TV show and we are having a pet guy on)... but we may be rethinking this if his curls aren't back in time.
Well it might take more than a few weeks to get it back to a shaggy look, but I know that when I cut my two this short, that leaving a long beard looks very unfinished and makes them look long in the face. The groomer might have thought you would like him to look proportional to the rest of his length and cut it because it looked unattractive otherwise. Just my opinion
Still a magnificent doodle...
He looks great before and after.
I bet he will feel so much better for the summer hot weather. I like the shaggy do too, but it is so much maintenance for me and I think my dogs like it better shorter. Plus, they swim a lot and the long hair makes it harder. You might find you like the short cut too, once it grows on you. (LOL)
duncan gets the very trim legs but within a few weeks it's back to bear paws and for those few weeks i enjoy the velvety soft shorter fur.
He looks adorable. I do think we are all "Doodle Fanatics" though, we would all love a doodle no matter how it looked. They really do look like a totally different dog, don't they? I got Bindi cut a few weeks ago & I think I wiil be getting her cut again soon. Here is a picture of Bindi before & after her hair cut.

Yep, that looks familiar!  But Bindi looks great!
I think Brinkley looks adorable.  He looks just like my Gracie Doodle right now after her haircut from two months ago.  I groom her myself and I do have to say, the eyelashes are very hard to keep from cutting.  I love Gracie's long lashes but I have cut them off a few times only because when you get near the eyes with scissors you have to be quick and it is hard to keep the Doodle very still while you "fine tune" the cut.  I'm sure the Groomer didn't intend to cut the lashes...since one side was left long.  You can point it out next time and hope that Brinkley holds still at the exact moment.  He will be your big floppy mop again in no time!
He is adorable in both cuts!
LoL- Oh gosh, I was JUST getting ready to post the SAME thing...we got our Molly cut this past Saturday. I know EXACTLY how you feel....although, I will say your doodle is still a cutie!!!!

I'm going to go and post mine now...so you can laugh at my poor naked doodle, lol.
