• 81 percent of Americans consider their dogs to be equal members of the family
• 77 percent own up to talking about their pups as if they are a human family member
• On average, dog owners have about seven photos of their dogs displayed in their homes or offices
• Nearly a quarter of pet parents (23 percent) have a photo album dedicated to just pictures of their canines
• 16 percent have started scrapbooks for their dogs
• 71 percent admit that they have at least one picture on them at all times that they show off to others
• 58 percent of American dog owners are comfortable calling themselves nicknames such as “Mommy” and “Daddy” when referencing their dogs (no surprise in Dogster Land!)
• 35 percent refer to their dog as their “son” or “daughter”

“Dogs are integral members of the family unit, and we want to shed light on this subtle, but important change from ‘owner’ to ‘parent.’ This survey showcases how pet parents today really treat their dogs like their own children,” says Rob Leibowitz, Del Monte Foods Senior Vice President, Pet Products.

Yes to 7 out of 8 of the questions above, BUT I haven't even made a scrap book for my human son :0

ALL OF THE ABOVE FOR ME!!! I love my doodle kids.
Almost all of the above for me! :-)
6 out of 8, my pets are my babies!
We are guilty as charged on all counts!!!!
I just don't get these people who treat their dogs like children. I mean, Fudge knows that when I dress her in her Halloween outfit that she had better not take it off until I get at least 20 pictures. Vern knows that when I tuck him in at night and turn on his night light, that is is time to go to sleep. I am very strict with my dogs! I am so glad I do not have this problem! LOL
Thanks, Sandy. All those "first moments" are so exciting.
hahahahahahahaha!!!  Laurie, you totally lie like a rug!!
Nancie, I haven't heard that expression in a long time....made me smile :)
Rooney & Stuart are my grandchildren replacement therapy.  Since I have no grandchildren to love, spoil and brag on - ta da - DOODLE babies instead.  Works for me!!!!
Our guys are definitely considered part of the family...just not "equal" members.  I must also admit I have no scrapbooks for the Doods, and I don't refer to them as my sons.  As far as a "dog's life" goes though, they are spoiled rotten.  LOL

Yep I agree with all of the above expect for the reference of refering to  Wilson as my "Son"   I just started my scrapbook of Wilson yesterday, with my daughter's help!!! And I have all kinds of photos of him on my phone, My daughter thinks I spend way too much   money on him and not her   LOL  LOL  LOL.

Yea ,   and Wilson is spoiled  I and my DH  are very guilty !!!   Love the Doodle  Guy
