All of this 'talk' about traveling and what's to see and do where we all live got me thinking (Clark's inspiration) .... Have you guys ever heard of "Flat Stanley"? ( I know you teachers and moms probably heard of it). For those of you who don't know who "Stanley" is...
Flat Stanley is a children's book written by Jeff Brown. Stanley Lambchop was flattened when a bulletin board hanging over his bed, fell on him, flattening Stanley in his sleep. One special advantage about being 'flat' was that he could now be mailed to his friends in an envelope. The Flat Stanley project was started by a teacher in Ontario who wanted to improve on letter writing skills. Each student had to mail their 'paper' Stanley to someone they know. That 'someone had to take him around with him or her and take pictures of Stanley and write about his adventures while staying with the 'friend'. Usually we, as teachers, make a map and plot just where our Stanleys visited.
So it got me thinking.... (although I would LOVE to visit all of you personally myself, there just aren't enough days free - for me - lol) so... what if we do our own version of "Flat Stanley" - but do it with 'a doodle' - our very own "Flat Doodle"! We could either use the generic one like in the logo, or incorporate our own doodle. We could identify the location, sign and date it, and see just where "he/she" goes and how long it takes....
I don't know... maybe I have too much time on my hands this summer (not) and my 'teacher brain' is working overtime, but...What are your thoughts? Be honest... have I just forgotten to totally remove my "teacher hat" for the summer????

Can we make a color copy of a doodle in the funny sitting pose, glue it to cardboard and cut it out? It will last longer than just a sheet of paper, and will be easier to pose in different places. If someone doesn't offer, I will certainly step up to the plate.
