Molly is a digger, she and Jack have been having a field day in my yard digging. I was just outside trying to fix a hole but don't have the strength to hammer this nails in. I came in the house and thought my mom was watching the dogs..

My mom started calling Molly and she would not come.. We told Jack to go find Molly.. He was barking and barking at the gate, but we thought he was just barking at the neighbors who just came out...plus there was no way she could go through the gate, we just boarded it up.

We soon discovered Molly had escaped. She was not in the house or in the yard.. I was not dressed at all except for tiny night gown.....nothing else. as I grabbed a bath robe, I was yelling to my mom to see if she had her collar on, NOPE. my heart sunk..

I decided to run though the front door instead of the garage.... I open the door and there is Molly throwing herself against the front door crying, pawing and scratching to get in.... I am astounded she knew where the front door was because maybe one or two times tops since she got here has she even seen the front door,. We always go out through the garage of back door.

Thank God she is a smart little girl and thank God she is timid becasue she was too scared to take off into the development where there are a ton of open water drains she could have fallen into, tons of dogs, and cars..

We are so grateful that Molly didn't run away, That had nothing to do with us, just Thank GOD..

She came in the house and hugged us with her little paws....

I think my heart will stop pounding soon.... and when the heck are we going start listening to Jack who was barking at the gate door the whole time????

So glad to hear that nightmare was very shortlived. That is so sweet that Jack was looking out for his little sister!
If you have some rocks put them in the holes and put dirt on top.  It was once suggested to me to put a blown up balloon in a hole and cover it gently.  When the dog digs the balloon will pop and startle the dog and stop the digging.

Sounds like you have a "chicken doodle" in the house and thank goodness. I like to say Daisy was scared safe, something spooked her on a walk and apparently I did not have her collar on tight enough (she was 4 months old and I was a newbie) she wiggled free of her collar and I was running after her with leash and collar in hand. We ran 2 blocks me screaming her name like a freak....she ran straight to our garage and sat on the stair to the house and waited for me who was way behind.

I'm glad she didn't go too far.  Way to go, Jack, for sounding the warning.
How scary..I am do glad to hear she is safe and what a smart little girl and a smart big brother! Sophie is a digger also. She was after a chippy yesterday and I thought for a moment she was going to get nipped.
Smart girl!!!!!!
What a terrible scare!! I'm so glad it had a happy ending with doodle  hugs!!
What a smart Molly! What a smart Jack!  Thank goodness, Molly is ok. It is so awful to think they are out and can get into so many things.
Oh gosh=I'm so happy she's smart! So glad she's safe.
What a scare. Glad to hear it's all fine
oh gosh, even more scary that she did not have her collar on. i keep Coopers collar on at all times (apart from bath/grooming time) just in case she gets out.
Yikes!  Glad it turned out well but a good reminder to never let them out the door without those collars on.
