Just wondering what type food dish do you use? I'm thinking of getting one of those elevated ones that holds the 2 bowls so that my pooch will not have to lean down to eat. Do you think it makes a difference? Just wondering  :)

There are some conflicting views if elevated bowls are contributing factors in BLOAT.

we must have been typing our comments at the same time because will I posted mine, your post wasn't showing up yet.  Funny that we were pretty much typing the same thing.

I read somewhere that the elevated dishes can be a contributing factor in bloat.  If you google "elevated dog bowls and bloat" you will get discussions for and against the use of the elevated feeders.  My guys are small so I just set the bowls down on the floor and they do fine.  Make sure you use ceramic or metal bowls and not plastic though as plastic tends to harbor more bacteria and germs.

some research suggests elevated food dishes helps prevent bloat, others sa it is a contributing factor. Cooper has always had elevated food dishes til about 3 months ago when we moved and the stand would not fit in the car. I have to say, with a big dog, it looks so uncomfortable for her (she will not lay down to eat) and I do worry about her hips

I just use old porcelain salad bowls. I have extras and can swap them out. They are shallow so the food is easy to get at. Calla always eats lying down and Luca standing up.

Sadie eats standing up out of metal bowls that I have had for years. She is tall but it only takes her 30 seconds to eats her Orijen. When she eats her chicken bajks she lies down and crunches.

I'm using the Neater Feeder with Monty. I love it since it helps minimize the mess around bowls and Monty had no problems with bloating.

My Mother feeds her Viszla on LENOX plates! lol!!

How funny. I hope the dog appreciates it.

She is a rescue and came to my mom skin and bones.  She eats everything and anything!  I doubt she notices the quality of the serving dish!! lol

OOH La La!!!!!
