Funny Things Doodles Do

Hi Everyone :)  Just curious... does your Doodle do some crazy things?  I know they are very playful.  For example, Lan LOVES to go up to my husband and wack him!  All you see it this furry paw just wack him on the head.  Like, he can be laying on the couch and she walks up and wacks him on the head.  He can be sleeping and first thing Lan does is run up to him and wack him in the face.  It's the funniest thing!  I keep joking I should have named her Lizzie Borden... you know "Lizzie Borden took an ax and gave her mother 40 wacks..." lol.  Just wondering what other crazy things your doodles do.

[Phoebe's Mom]

Phoebe loves to lay along the back of the couch just like a cat might.  I had never seen a dog do this before we got her. She also 'sits' on the same couch with her back against the back of the couch and her leg along the armrest--very disconcerting but hilarious to see.  The other thing she does that I had not heard of before is that she is extremely vocal.  She 'talks' to me all the time...if I am not listening/paying attention to her, she has a certain sound; if she wants ice, she 'tells' me and if anyone has peanut butter and I am not getting hers fast enough, she 'yells' at me but does not bark.

My doodles also love to smack us with their paw....it's not done out of meanness, it's their way of wanting attention I think.  lol And it's funny...mine also do it a lot more to my husband than to me! lol  They are so fresh.  

[Rob, Stacy, Garmisch & Wembley]

Wembley has a mean right hook....you have to be careful cause that thing comes out of know where.  I had to explain to my co-workers why I had a shiner...they didn't believe me when I said "my dog did it".

The only weird thing Garmisch does is watch TV.  She sits right in front and will watch for 20-30 minutes at a time.  Especially Shrek or any other Dreamworks style movie...and god forbid if any 4-legged animal comes on the screen, she'll be on her hind legs 2 inches from the plasma barking like crazy.....well except for giraffes, she's got no beef with them.

LOL, Kona wacks too, she usually does a straight out punch :)  She has bloodied my noes by getting her nail right in the soft part.  If you make a funny noise she wacks at you, and if she is going to jump in your lap she wacks your knee.  She is not asking for permission, she is on her wayyyyy.  I have to warn people who sit in the lazy boy :)

Also, my husband told me once, that BB once got his attention drawn to our power strip by the computer and quite promptly wacked the red button, and turned off the whole system! ;-] It was funny and not good at the sametime. haha

lol!  I'm getting such a kick out of these stories!  I guess doodles are just full of personality!  And it's funny that others "wack" too.  Lan never does it to me, but always my husband as well as steal his socks lol but if I wake up before anyone else I do find her laying right next to my husband!  I think she loves him but has her own way of showing it (i.e. wacking him and stealing his socks)

Ruby has a special "poop" wack.   That is, when she has to poop, she finds me and wacks me on the face with either one or both paws.  If I ignore it, she does it again until I get the message.   Her poop wacks are serious stuff.  :)

Ruby also howls while I'm fixing her breakfast, as if to say "oh-this-is-so-fantastically-excitingly-wonderful-that-I-must-regress-to-my-former-wolf-self" and HOWWWL.  It's so adorable that I can't help but giggle.

[Libby and Spencer]

Spencer smacks with his paw too.  He does it to get my attention, and it is most effective at 2 a.m. when he needs to go out.  He knows that if he keeps smacking the edge of the bed, I will wake up and let him out.  My favorite thing is that we play a little game of chase around a loop in the house.  I'll run at him and he will grab a toy and take off.  I hide, then he comes back looking for me.  Sometimes he runs the opposite way and ends up chasing me.  He is so playful and fun, and I just love that he gets this little game!!  I think he plays it with one of the cats too...

Bailey is a "wacker" too!  But I love it when she snorts..  She will get really excited and roll on the floor and snort like a piggie... it is the funniest thing!!!
