Labradoodle & Goldendoodle Forum
Romeo is our 9 month old Goldendoodle. We are thinking about adding an 8 week old lbradoodle to our family. Romeo is so social, I think he would love a little sister.
I would appreciate any thoughts, are we crazy?

Funny! I have a 10 month old, and will be getting another dog this spring. I can't offer an answer as to whether you are crazy or not, but if you're anything like me, you ARE. Good luck with your decision! Can't wait to see the responses!
You are absolutely not crazy....because if you are than I am too! That's just about the same age difference as my two and it works out great. I am happy though that I had my older Dood through a good part of his training before we got the puppy. It would have been difficult to be training them both together.
Lets see Rooney turned 1 yr in August and we got Stuart in June so Rooney was 10 months old. Nope you are not crazy. Rooney was an adorable ALD who acted like a human toddler - then we got Stuart and with a doggy brother - Rooney became a dog too! They love each other, protect each other, pick on each other - and I believe are totally happier because of each other. Go for it.
Lots of us have two and then some of us have three, and four.....it gets addictive. i think that the age difference is fine--just make sure that they don't play too rough for a while to protect your little guy's joints and hips from injury.
hahahaha Magnet was about 9 months old when we got Smudge. Seems to be the popular time for the "doodle fever" to rampage lol They are like potato chips, you can't stop at just one. Go for it, I found that it was a perfect age to add another pup. Everything worked out great for us and the pups can still grow up and play together for years to come. I decided to add a third dog because my 9 yr old lab/mix was over the "playing and romping" stage and Magnet wanted so badly someone to really play with who has the same puppy energy. We are now one big happy family :) Good Luck
Nope... you are not crazy at all and if you are then I am too :) Sasha (goldendoodle) was 10 months old when I got Oliver (labradoodle) it was the best thing I ever did !!!! I wanted to get another doodle while Sasha was still young so they could grow up together. I was lucky that my breeder let me bring Sasah along in the process of getting Oliver. When we went to pick Ollie up, it was a 2 1/2 hr. ride Sasha came with us so they had time to get to know each other in the back of the car. They bonded instantly, when we got home they played and its been heaven every since :)
You're not crazy. Hero is 7 months old and we just brought Summer home two weeks ago. Summer is 10 weeks old now. They get along great. Since they are both puppies they are both eating puppy food, so no issues if one steals food from the other (as Summer usually does, lol). They do a lot of mouthing and wrestling so they tire each other out and when we sit down to watch TV she falls asleep in our laps and Hero retires to his comforter. We keep their crates next to each other in our bedroom at night and both of them have slept through the night since she came to stay with us (Except last night, for some reason Hero needed to go out at 3 AM, the brat).
Since Hero has completed advanced obedience, I expect it will be easier to train Summer. She will have a role model to follow.
Good Luck!
