Has anyone ever used one of the treat puzzles for dogs?
The kind where the dog has to slide somethings to get a treat.
Thanks for any feedback,
Pam

A friend of mine bought my doodles one and they love it :) Oliver likes it more so than Sasha, which is totally confusing to me because Sasha is the brains of the pack and Ollie is the brawn. I love to watch them try to find the treats, only adivse is to use good smelly treats :)
I have the bottle with the rope--total flop in my house--the doods couldn't figure it out, so one tried to chew thru it and did a lot of damage to the part that screws on so you can put the treats in. It isn't too easy to use anymore. The others looked at me as if to say "Why did you put our cookies in there!? We can't get them!!" Very sad eyes....
I bought this one--it was about $20 in my local pet supply place. Took Quinn about 10 minutes to skip the middleman and just eat whole toy. I wouldn't recommend it. :)

Here is the one Trevor has:

The wooden puzzles are good quality but you have to supervise. Trevor still likes this game after a year. Is it $50 worth of fun? That is debatable.
All the good ones seem expensive. I have no doubt that with a little creativity one could make their own. The doodles wouldn't know the difference.
We bought the plastic ball that has squared sides so it just doesnt roll around. I thought I was being so clever with it and it would be very stimulating for Snicks. Within 2. Hours he figured out if you leaned it against the couch the door would open and all the treats spilled out. Needless to say it is put away may give it to our neighbors dog who does not seem very bright. Never heard of the wooden ones but honestly if your dood is smart they will figure it out quickly and they are expensive for a one time playtime.
I just bought one for Chloe's birthday, she doesn't get it until the 23rd!
As I was looking at them a customer came up and showed me the 2 that worked for her and which were bad ones.
They had to have one that doesn't have pieces that come out because they would eat them. This one is plastic and has sliding parts.
I have seen them recently at Walgreens for around 9.99
Thanks!
I bought one for my goldendoodle on his first birthday and he loved it. Loved showing off for anyone who would fill the puzzle and watch him "find" his treats. He literally wore it out. It is a great way to entertain the doodle, the owner and guests who will be amazed at their ability and diligence in getting to the treats.
Roo and Tigger each received one from my son and his significant other ( what the heck am I supposed to call live together, but not married people?). They are made of wood and flat like a young child's puzzle. You start out easy (directions in package) and gradually make it harder. Roo and Tigger love them, but solve it easily even if they have to move a lot of pieces. It is fun for them though it never takes them more than a minute of so to get the treat. Then you have to refill it.
