So I need all the experts opinions on which Les Poochs Brush would be best for me to buy for Daisy's coat....I had her to the groomers today and she told me she had lots of mats...WHAT??? I seriously never felt one!?!? How could this be? I feel like the worst mommy to my Lil doodle. I have read other posts about how great these brushes are and I want to be sure to buy the right one....Thanks in advance!!

I looked his name up under members and couldn't find him....if he's your friend can you please tell him to contact me...Thanks a Bunch!! :)
Thank you...I was spelling his name wrong...Thanks again :)

Yes, he helped me.  I described my dogs' coats and I think I even sent him a picture...he hooked me up with the right brush.  I do find now that they've been through the coat change, just quickly combing them each day keeps the mats under control.

On a similar note: can somebody explain how is the Les Poochs brush different than a flexible slicker brush sold at regular pet stores? Thank you.

The thing that seems to be different is that on one side the bristles are angled and I was told that gets under and loosens the mats And the other is for smoothing...I am by no means an expert this was just what I was told by my groomer...hope it helps... :)

Jarka, I honestly do not know why the Les Poochs brush is better but I can tell you that it makes all the difference in my dog's coat and the ease of brushing him. He has a wool/fleece coat. I could barely get through his ears. When the brush arrived, I immediately tried it on his ears and it went through like butter! I can brush him out in now time at all. I would brush and brush with a slicker with bent tines, and I could never get to the point that I could comb him. Now I can line brush him as described in the Grooming Group: brush a small section in the opposite direction of the hair growth, brush the section in the normal direction and then comb it. Magic. That's the difference.. the Les Poochs is magic. Sorry for the lengthy reply but can you tell, I'm sold! Kemp chose the right brush for Kona.

Thank you, Bonnie. This really helps. I did contact Kemp a while back and he recommended the green big brush for Monty. I just could not bring myself into spending that kind of money for a brush. I'll start saving. I really appreciate your response.

OMD (Oh My Doodle) Jarka! I thought I was crazy spending that much money on a dog brush. I would not live without one now. I think you will really, really like it for Monty. Kona doesn't shed at all. Our DD's doodle, Owen does shed a little bit and has much straighter hair but I still use the Les Poochs on him and love it. I have the large green brush.

I thought that Bexter didn't have mats either.  The reason was I was brushing all the time, but not getting down to the skin with the slicker brush I was using.  He was soft & silky on top.  Then, when I tried to use a comb & part his hair to where I could see his skin, I couldn't do it....he had mats all under his silky top layer.  It was terrible and I felt horrible for not knowing!  So, I started using a comb so that I could get the mats close to the skin.  I also use Ice on Ice detangler from Chris Christensen.  However, it is an ongoing struggle because Bexter is 11 months old (going through the coat change I am assuming)!  I really need to get on there & buy the Les Pooch brush!  Maybe that can be Bexter's birthday present!  I'm sure he'll love that!

Kemp also helped us, I sent a picture of Myla and Chloe. He picked the correct one and was very quick with his response.

best thing we ever did for Myla's hair. Chloe won't have anything to do with it or ANY slicker-good thing she is the one with the easy hair. You won't be disappointed!

i had the puppy one for Cooper. Obviously after the coat change it wasnt as much use, especially once her fur grew really long. I used regular slicker brushes and and Oster rake (which i still love) and saved up for a new les Poochs. Oh my I forgot just how amazing they are!

I made a discussion in the grooming group just the other day regarding the new furminator brushes that look just like les Poochs but are 1/4 the price. Apparently they are nowhere near as good,  but maybe you can use one while you save.

The les pooch brush cuts my grooming time down by about 5 times!!!!!!
