Meet our resuce puppy. Noel!
I joined this forum a couple of weeks ago and am just now posting photo from... 2 weeks ago. She is a rescue. The "breeder" dropped an entire litter off at the animal (kill) shelter in Abilene. A rescue group fostered them and that is how we eneded up with Noel. She is the best puppyin the world and is extremely laid back. The moment you sit down, you will have a little companion curled around your feet.
She is the best!

Wow--soooo lucky!! Good luck with your new treasure! Looks like she will be silver--here is a picture of a previously all black pup as a 2 year old...he is my dog's son.

That lady that does resuce in Winters is a good friend of my mother in-law. And we had her write a letter of recommendation for us! You found me! Pawed Squad was the rescue group. We found Noel on Petfinder shortly after Christmas. And she was available for adoption the second week of January. We consider ourselves fortunate to have been matched up with her.

The "breeder", if you want to call him/her that, decided they couldn't deal with the litter and dropped off an entire litter of 11 and supposedly left town. 5 of the 11 died. The entire litter was very sick. Possibly parvo. When my wife and I found Noel, (that was her foster name which we kept) her sister, Eve, was the only one left. I believe she was adopted a week after we picked up Noel.
It is a very sad story. But we feel like we were able to help.
Noel was 13 pounds 2.5 weeks ago. Now she is 21!
