Labradoodle & Goldendoodle Forum

I have been reading a lot of "i am sorries" on random posts about all the misinformation given to new Doodle puppy parents.

I began to wonder why can't we post the breeders name at least  in our profile?

This should be a simple way to attempt to hold breeders accountable.  This DK is a social media site...and these sites have proven to be so helpful world wide in creating good practices and holding people to an honest standard.

I want to add that, i have not received my doodle pup yet..i will on this friday.

So, i have no axe to grind. Just think this is such a valuable site and could add a real measure of clarity, transparency & candor to all breeders communication with the prospective owners.

Kind of a  "Doodle Angie's list"

Curious to hear what anyone thinks. Keeping these misleading breeders in the shadows..helps no one but, the less than veracious breeder.

As far as  know you can post your breeder's name on your page. I did that and the names of my dogs' breeders have been there since.

Breeders are in BUSINESS and businesses can SUE--enough said.....

Sadly anyone can sue and some do.

I think this site isn't the place for breeder reviews on the public main page. I agree however that people should be able to ask questions about certain breeders and get private messages back, as long as we realize that an opinion is just one factor in deciding on a breeder. I think we do owe it to all the doodles in the world to keep our breeders accountable. This is a great site with lots of information. I try to contribute when I can, becasue I have asked several of my own questions, thats what a new puppy will do to ya! I do feel that on occasion comments are left and then people are made to feel inferior to long time posters. I just think sometimes we need to think before we post and respect each other a little more from time to time. Like I said, this is a great community and all should feel a part of it!

Maybe we need a group for rating breeders with a list of questions to answer and no way to leave nasty comments.

Clark and I have looked now and then for a simple way to review...haven't found it yet.
There you go, like rating a movie, or a seller on eBay! I of course have an awesome breeder so I will tell anyone about her anytime and she has been on my profile page for over 5 years.

I don't think anyone minds if someone looking for a puppy posts a discussion that they are looking as well as the area of the country or dog type etc. and ask others to contact them with their opinions. I also think that if you are a newby, you may not realize that some groups are based around a specific breeder and need to be directed.

This is a good question, Rodney. As to having the breeder you selected on your personal page, I have seen that.
