what kind of couch do you have...

hello all!! i have a question.. i have a 10 1/2 month old goldendoodle.. 80 lbs. we currently have 2 couches that were given to my by a co worker. they dont really go with my apartment so well..but they were free and we had just gotten Midas (our doodle) and we knew it wasnt a good idea to buy brand new couches just then... i am now thinking of getting a couch.. Midas currently is allowed on the couch and does sometimes jump around on it.. i know i should stop that..but its hard because i do like to cuddle him on the couch as well.. basically my question is..what kind of couch do u have? leather, suede, micro fiber? how does it hold up with your dog on the couch if your doodle is allowed on the couch.. the one i am looking it is a micro fiber sectional...brown.. whats ur advice? get the new couch..or hold off til hes older and calmer? or go for it and work on not allowing chaos on the couch?? thanks please lmk ur advice asap as i have to go look at the couch tonight! xoxo

Recliners will take care of this problem... unless of course you have the foot rest up and then the ball/bone goes under. I have Lazyboy reclining furniture that I have had since 2004.... it is fabric and Shelby has had couch privledges for nearly 2.5 years now and it is holding up great.

Agreed, I had to contact Planet Dog customer service to find a ball that would fit in Teddy's mouth and not fit under the couch. He now has a big pink ball that doesn't fit under the couch :)

My two are always on our two maroon leather couches and there's no visible damage.  Also great is the fact that Bender sheds like crazy and there's never any hair on the couch.  The bottom of my husband's microfiber recliner, however, that's a different story.  Good thing that's a dark burgundy also!

I have red leather couchs, and no damages at all. Chalrlie and Pinot Grigio are allowed on them any time. I think Charlie spend most of the time on them during the day.

we have leather couches and I am so glad we do. Scarlet does get small scratch marks on them but it just gives them character :)  We also have a set from JCPenny with removable slipcovers but she is not allowed on those as her claws tend to snag them.We also put a blanket on the leather ones but she always kicks it away. I think she likes the feel of the cold leather - goodluck

Yes, to answer your concerns, we now have two couches again!   :)  Of course.  This trick really works.

A couch for you ( dog/cats) and a couch for we
