Our Loki Doodle will eat everything he can get a hold of. We have to watch him so close. He is 7 1/2 months old. Will he outgrow his soon? He swallows whole socks, rocks, handiwipes, chewed up plastic, You name it, he eats it. Im surprised nothing has gotten lodged some where on the way out!!

Have already learned! Lol Oh my gosh...does she vomit or does it come out other end? Has she had to have anything removed by vet?
I second Sue's advice. Get pet insurance ASAP if you don;t already have it, and do your best to supervise him, keep clothing items put away, garbage in covered containers, etc. An internal obstruction can lead to a $3000 surgical bill and permanent intestinal damage.
We gave Quincy bully sticks in a trade every time he had something he shouldn't. We kept a good eye on him. He is 10 1/2 months now and he has quieted down with "stealing" stuff, but we make sure he has plenty of bully sticks, rope toys and hard kong toys around to choose from. It's like having a toddler, always have to have a sense of where they are and what they are doing until magically, they settle in (hopefully?)
Charlie was not much of a chewer, nor random stuff eater, so I was wondering about the same thing... I have a 8 months old standard now, and he finds and chews everything.... I am hoping that it will taper down as he gets older.... He is in the puppy pen when we are not around...because he finds things from nowhere....sigh....
Welcome to our world. Some dogs are just like that. Tigger is one. It may get somewhat better as he gets older. Not so much for Tigger. He will eat anything. I got Pet insurance. Most things will go on through, including whole socks, underwear, etc. Our vet told us to feed him as much wonderbread as he would eat when he ate a women's disposable razor. It worked. We do our best, but he is fast and sneaky and he will be five soon.
There is hope LeAnn! Our Libby did the exact same thing and loves socks, handkerchiefs, washcloths, etc,! We "trained" oursleves to put everything UP and away from the counters and off the floors. She is now two and she is sooo much better! Only once in a while she grabs something and gives us a look and ready to run and we say "leave it" and she gives up those puppy dog eyes and drops it. So hang in there and let her know it is not hers:) Outside, she is still rearranging our landscaping:) LOL
I wish that could work with Oscar, but we already keep things up. The things he does get he's sneaky about (mostly stuff he picks up on walks, etc. outside, but as I mentioned above in my earlier post, there is the occasional item that is dropped or lost that ends up on the floor) and in one quick gulp its down his throat. Once we see his mouth moving and get to him its too late! Its gone! I can only hope he grows out of it.
Lonnie and Libby Lu....Oh this is good news! We are very careful to keep everything put up to, but once in a while were in a hurry and forget something. And we make sure the cupboards, sink, dish drainer are clear. This last week was the first time he had eaten socks...not one but the pair! One he vomited up and the other he crapped out :P We have river rock in our back yard, everytime he went out he would bring a rock back in, but he doesnt do that as much so hopfully thats getting better. He def has LOTS of toys and bones. He does get sneaky at times :) Thanks for your comment!
Those socks went in a pair and one didn't make the cut?! LoL!!
I think your right!! LOL He tried eating Paisley's socks today, but i caught him!
