Prepared or not prepared, I am once again the puppy mom to a new doodle.  He's been keeping me very very busy (by that I mean sleep-deprived!) and I haven't had a chance to share his photos.  I picked him up last Sunday.  I forgot how much work a new puppy is- can't take my eye off the little guy!  I mistakenly keep calling him Riley- I hope I stop doing that soon, it makes me sad.  This little man is a little shy but a very good cuddler.  If I could only figure out how to keep him out of my flowers.... :-)

What a cute little happy fella Bennie is! Congrats! I agree, the puppy stage is a whole lot of work, but the time you put in now will reap big dividends later. Its all so fleeting, enjoy him while he's young... and take LOTS of pictures!

OMG, after reading others' comments, I realize why you were sad calling Bennie, Riley. I had no idea. When I said "Its all so fleeting..." I meant the puppy stage, and nothing else. I'm so sorry. I feel like such a klutz.

Thanks everyone!  He is quite the cutie.  I'm trying to be patient with his 'puppyisms'.... he's lucky he has a sweet face ;-) I think I'll be contributing to the Puppy Madness group sooner rather than later!

I know this is all bittersweet for you.  I love the profile picture and I understand what you are feeling right now.  Please remember Riley is happy for you right now.  There is a part of Riley's soul in Benny and you will see that more and more as you get to know him.  You are NOT betraying Riley...on the contrary, you are HONORING Riley.  Smile through your tears!  We are all happy for you.
