Yesterday I had Benny, my six month old doodle, neutered. His laser procedure went well. The vet did a variety of blood tests and all was fine, but when she palpated his hips she noticed that the…Continue

Prepared or not prepared, I am once again the puppy mom to a new doodle. He's been keeping me very very busy (by that I mean sleep-deprived!) and I haven't had a chance to share his photos. I…Continue

So today would have been Riley's 5th birthday. I woke up in an especially sad mood, not really wanting to acknowledge his absence or the gaping hole that's still in my heart. It would figure that I…Continue

It will be six weeks this Sunday that I lost Riley. He was the first dog I've ever had, and I couldn't imagine ever having one better. I've cried every single day since he passed, but for whatever…Continue

You have been on my mind all day. HAH. I had a list of things to do on my day off and POOF, gone. Hope you sign back on and write me
Thanks for the friend request. I love the photos of Riley, especially the one where he is playing in the snow.
Ah, thank you for thinking of us today. I'm sure that Riley and Sophie are both smiling down on us and wishing for us to have a Happy Easter. We took Lucy with us to my Moms today which is something we didn't normally do when we had them both, but I didn't want to leave her alone. We also just picked up my brothers Maltese that we are babysitting for a couple days. Going to be a test to see how Lucy does with her without Sophie here. Lucy isn't particularly happy for other dogs (besides Sophie) to be around her Mommy, so this will be interesting. We are finally getting to a point where we can at least talk about Sophie without tears tmost of the time, and can smile or chuckle when we think of a funny Sophie story. I hope that you are starting to heel as well. I know it will be a long time before the sadness is gone, but I'm hopefull that it gets less and less. Hugs to you and Happy Easter!
Mandy -- Thank you so much for your kind note on our Sophie girl. When I saw your post on Riley a few short weeks ago I knew then that this was what we had ahead of us. Even with the miserable feelings of grief that I'm experiencing, I couldn't help but feel thankful that I had those months with my Sophie to come to grips with it. The sudden loss of your Riley is something that none of us could ever prepare ourselves for. All the same thoughts and emotions, just without the time to say your goodbyes. I hope that you are starting to be able to reflect on the wonderful memories of your Riley rather than just suffering thru the grief of the loss. I'm looking forward to those days because I do have so many wonderful memories! Hugs!
Just a note to let you know I'm thinking about you
Mandy, I am so very sorry for your loss. We are holding you close in our thoughts.
Mandy, I did have a doodle pass away last year at the age of 2.5 years. I did not want to tie up your discussion with my own grief.
Know that I am out here for you. I get it. It is all stiff fresh in my mind and I can be a shoulder for you.
I sent you a friend request.
So sad for you. Try to find comfort by remembering all the years of love and companionship you shared.
I am so sorry for your loss. I will be praying for you.
We just want to wish you a very Happy Birthday!
