I am curious....been looking at several great pix of different doodles celebrating their birthdays. Many are enjoying elaborate bday meals...I'm sure these foods are not an ordinary occurrence ....Do they ever get ill from all the seemingly rich/different foods introduced on their bdays? I have a few months to plan for DerbyDoodle's big day so I am wondering. It would be fun to plan a special meal. So far, I have decided lots of different types of paper will be the "theme". She will be able to shred all day if she wants.

Thanks!

Great photos.

Camus gets a new toy (not that he needs any more toys :)) and a trip to the ocean, weather allowing.  We both love the beach so it is a win win.

Ned's first birthday party included his brothers and cousin dogs. The 'cookies' and peanutbutter filled bones were for the dogs and the cake was for the humans.Since it was a 'formal' affair, the dogs all got scarves to wear too.

That is too cute!

It was fun.  Between the cousins and our dogs we had 9 dogs - two weren't allowed to have the peanut butter bones, but they did get the cookies.

Last year I made Teddy a "cheesecake". It had a crust of crushed dog biscuits mixed with a bit of peanut butter, and topped with a mixture of plain yogurt and banana, then frozen in a muffin tin. I gave him 1/4 of the cake on his birthday. He loved it! Those are all treats he gets sometimes so he's used to the foods.

I love your cheesecake recipe!  I might try that the Penny's first birthday this month.

Great idea!! Cheesecake no bake!! Sounds good enough for real peeps
