Jump Ball...really suggesting an opportunity for many different opinions that all could be correct

Traveling back to Paradise for the beginning of "snow bird" season
DerbyDoodle will be going also, of course! She has flown on aircraft 5 times since she has been 5 mo
Returning to Chicago this summer we experienced a long airport delay....she was perfect. However, I sense as she is "aging" she is getting a little impatient with airline rules....must be in a carrier entire time in the airport etc. she's not a barker but she is quite a whiner!! And I thought I would just side step any complaints from her by...I guess, bribing her with this tasty treat.
In anticipation of what might be a weather delayed flight to the rain soaked S.E. coast of Fla. I bought a medium sized piece of Himalayan chew.
After Learning it is milk based and great for them to gnaw on...I Planned on sticking it in her carrier as we entered the airport lounge..I was cautioned too much could upset her tummy. ..Fla is a 2.5 hr flight from Chicago.....she is apprx 12-14 lbs... Is this a terrible idea if she has never had it before? Should I ease her into this treat? I usually don't feed her to much before she flies ...so I am curious
This sounding like it could become a problem more than a solution as I read this to myself
Is it really that rich?....
I'm opened for suggestions....

My Bailey  ( mini and about 25 pounds )  loves Himalayan chews however I quit giving them to her because she can bite off a pretty big piece and has swallowed pieces whole.  I realized this the next day when the whole pieces came out the other end.   I would think that a bully stick (the odorless ones) would be a better choice for the plane ride.  Depends on when you are flying as the odorless ones must be ordered on line.  Or maybe an antler?

I'm sitting here wishing my dogs were small enough to fly in the main cabin of a plane.  We often discuss when we will be ready for a long driving trip with 3 50+ pound doodles.

Anyway... If I were doing this, I'd get a mild sedative from my vet.  I'd rather not have an agitated dog for 4-5 hours (counting airport time).  Otherwise, do you ever use real marrow bones?  Those aren't likely to be digested quickly and can keep her busy for a long time.  If she's never had one, it's even more of a treat!

I really wouldn't try anything she hasn't had before.   For me, anyhow, I'd try giving her something tried and true, that you know she doesn't have any problems gnawing or eating.  :)

I would stuff a kong with some peanut butter and pieces of kibble or other little snacks you can wedge in there and she can work on getting it out for a while.
