I am baffled. Any suggestions? All of a sudden today, dogs breath stinks so bad like urine. Could it be from his stomach. No change in diet. It's so gross.

I googled it, says could be kidney disease, but you say dogs breath, would seem unlikely both could have the same problem

I don't think she meant plural dogs. I do think it could be a metabolic or kidney problem and I would have hime checked by a vet.

Yes, just one of them. Am calling the vet first thing monday. Seems unusual. Thank you.
Hoping you can get some answers...please...keep us updated.

Hoping it's nothing serious. Could he have gotten a hold of something outdoors?

I doubt he got anything...yard is fully fenced and there is literally nothing out there but dying grass! I am praying it's nothing serious. Love this guy so much!

Have you noticed him licking his "butt area" excessively?  When Murphy's anal glands need to be expressed he does this and his breath smells horrible because some of the anal fluid is getting into his mouth.  Also, my Guinness will frequently lick himself at the end of "peeing" (actually sometimes before he's totally finished) and then his breath also smells pretty bad.  So just watch for where he's licking and if you don't notice anything I would surely talk to the Vet.  My guys have no manners....LOL.

Thats what I thought too and I will keep a close eye on that. I practically sponge bath him after every pee. He nails the front paws every time. Eeek. I am calling vet tmrw anyway. Better safe than sorry. With Petplan in place, I dont even hesitate, though I wouldnt anyway but good to know we will be covered:)

Try brushing his teeth really, really well and then check the breath.

I gave Quincy regular bully sticks once-not the odor free-and paid for it with his breath!  Hope your guy is okay.

I dont buy those. Only things i buy are the boiled hollow beef bones and once in a while the antlers. Its very odd. Doesnt seem to smell all the time but once in a while i get a whiff and its so bad. I will bring him to vet tmrw as what i am reading about kidney trouble concerns me. Other than the smell, he is fine. Great appetite, very energetic, not drinking excessive, peeing normal. So strange.
It will be interesting to hear what the Vet thinks it may be. Keep us posted.
