I don't think she meant plural dogs. I do think it could be a metabolic or kidney problem and I would have hime checked by a vet.
Hoping it's nothing serious. Could he have gotten a hold of something outdoors?
Have you noticed him licking his "butt area" excessively? When Murphy's anal glands need to be expressed he does this and his breath smells horrible because some of the anal fluid is getting into his mouth. Also, my Guinness will frequently lick himself at the end of "peeing" (actually sometimes before he's totally finished) and then his breath also smells pretty bad. So just watch for where he's licking and if you don't notice anything I would surely talk to the Vet. My guys have no manners....LOL.
Try brushing his teeth really, really well and then check the breath.
I gave Quincy regular bully sticks once-not the odor free-and paid for it with his breath! Hope your guy is okay.
