Cally is getting spayed tomorrow!

I put her into daycare today to get some extra energy out before those dreaded two weeks of rest! The daycare was great and made sure she was drinking plenty of water so she would not be dehydrated and I am doing the same.

I talked to my vet and they said they will definitely not make Cally stay the night if that is not my wish so that is great news! I do not have to find a new vet. Lol, but really! I have to drop her off between 7:30 and 9. I decided to let my mother take her since I have to be at work really early and it is probably best because she would be able to sense how nervous I am. They are going to call me before and after her surgery and when she is ready to be picked up. They are going to make her the first surgery ( at my vet they only do spay/neuter surgeries on Thursdays) that way they can keep an eye on her for the day. My favorite and her favorite vet techs will be there tomorrow so I am really happy about that!

Please send some positive thoughts that the surgery goes well and that I am able to at least keep her calm for a week....maybe the weekend. :)

Here is a current picture of Cally and her new bandana that just arrived today! Lauries niece made it! I am already ordering another one for Rosey!

She will be fine Im sure. The waiting is the hard part. My advice is to keep her medicated with whatever they send home, no worries there except in under-medicating. They can't tell you when they are in pain, but I assumed my girl was and gave it as prescribed. Maybe you can carry her upstairs so you can both be comfortable in your normal surroundings/beds tonight? She wont be jumping on furniture or climbing stairs until late tomorrow or the next day, is my guess. Then watch out!!! I never used a cone or cover on Bella and she never bothered her stitches. Good luck

Thank you! I hope she does not mess with them but I am prepared just in case I took of a couple days next week so I could be here. I will definitely keep her medicated!

I'm sure Cally will do great, thinking of you guys and hoping for a very speedy recovery!

Now that I am off work I am anxiously awaiting an update! I have already cleaned my house top to bottom and both of Callys crates have fresh sheets and some toys in them.

Sending out positive thoughts for Cally.  She's adorable!

Thank you, Cheryl! She knows she is adorable too!

I totally forgot to update you all! They called and said Cally did great and that she is awake and wanting to just hang out in the office. I get to go pick her up at 5:30! Hurry up you stupid clock. They also said they want to see her tomorrow morning to check her since she is not spending the night. Anyways I can breath again and I get to go pick up my baby soon.

When they said to pick her up at 5:30 that they close at 6....I am so glad I pushed to bring her home. She would have been by herself in an unfamiliar place from 6 tonight till 7 tomorrow?!?!?!?! Are you kidding me? Also these last couple months have really made me start to think it is time to find a new vet, I just wish Cally's personal vet would come along with me since she is wonderful... it is just the office and the other vets!

Yay! Glad to hear all went well and due home soon! Once she is home, she is bound to feel better, just being home in her comfort zone.

See, the worst is over now and soon your girl will be back home. Hoping for a peaceful night for both of you!

This reminds me of when Bella was spayed and I also brought her home a few hours after she woke up. I had to help her walk out to the yard to potty that night as she was so groggy and moved so slowly. She didnt want to squat and just stood there looking at me but there was nothing I could do but help hold her butt for her while she squatted a little. It was so sad. Yes, I agree with bringing them home instead of staying there alone all night. Whats the sense in that?
At least you can be a butt supporter for her with her home. lol

We are sending good and positive vibes your way! Rue also went to daycare yesterday and is in surgery as I type. I'm waiting on my phone call to tell me she made it through with flying colors!!!

Prayers for a smooth procedure and speedy recovery!! Cally sure is a cutie!!! :)

Sending good vibes to Rue! She will do great!
