My mini GD puppy is scheduled to arrive at Laguardia airport tomorrow afternoon at 5:00pm

This storm we're having is already making me a nervous doodle parent!
He's flying from Toronto to Chicago O'Hare, lays over for two hours - then to LGA NY.

I really hope he makes it as he's a bday surprise for my wife, and her bday happens to be tomorrow also :-/

I was just going to ask that! If not you are a very good secret keeper!

Praying for the flight to continue as scheduled...and for that sweet, sweet puppy who has already been through so much today to be safe & warm in your arms by this evening:)

my friend and I are taking a chance and heading out to boston right now.

hoping they wont cancel this flight half way there.

flight 1209 o'hare to boston logan

wish me luck!!

she doesn't know yet - i was supposed to bring him home tonight.

she thought we were going out for dinner

now i told her i cant make it, and wont be home till much later.

she may be on to me or not - does think something is fishy tho.

lastly, any tips on puppy car sickness or how to prevent it.

last thing i want is for him to get sick on ride home.

ugh!!!! what a morning.

wish me luck all

Just read through this post.  Sitting on pins and needles here waiting to see what is happening!  Good luck to you Larry!  Re car sickness, he will probably be so exhausted he will sleep all the way home!

there int much you can do for carsicknes at this age and time frame you will have. i give ginger snap cookies, to our bella, and she lasted almost 3 hours on an off road jeep trip last weekend. but i dont think i would give such a new and sugary treat to a 10 week old. Have papertowels and extra towels or blankets with you tho.

I know an antler keeps Ragley busy on long car rides. Maybe bring something for him to chew on?

Hoping you have a pup who can weather the car ride. Poor little guy certainly deserves a break.
Most pups, like babies, fall asleep almost immediately in the car. Hoping for this sceneiro for you!

I wouldn't worry too much about car sickness, just having plenty of water on hand for the little guy so if he does throw up he can rehydrate.  The initial "ride home" experience for a puppy in the arms of their new owner is so important.  Just hold him securely with a sense of confidence so that this nightmare will end on a positive note.  With any luck he will think of you as his rescuer and your bond will be that much stronger.

Gosh, I was hoping this would all be settled by now. Please keep us posted. I would also call and try and talk with the highest ranking person in authority at the airport if that puppy is not on that plane for Boston and really push for Linda to pick him up.

Because it does happen that they "forget" to put animals on planes!

Or they put them on the wrong plane....

My worst fears are excessive exposure to elements and negligent handling by employees.  Just so many horrible things that could happen but trying to stay positive.
