I just got an e mail from my breeder that the mom of my puppy I was to get in April is not pregnant, I am so heartbroken. I don't know what to do . I have been getting ready and so excited, I put a big deposit down and had to plan the timing due to work and having surgery in March. I can't afford to have another deposit out there and I have been counting down the days. I an heartsick, I wantedthia puppy so badly. Quess it is not meant to be right now.

Pm me! Also the breeder should refund your deposit! I am so sorry I am sure that is absolutely devastating!
Why is it that you can't get your deposit back? As I've mentioned in previous posts to you, I had deposits with three different breeders before it worked out. You'll get your baby. Maybe check another breeder?
I'm so very sorry. But you should definitely be able to get your deposit back.

A lot of breeders say their deposits are non-refunable more so that people do not have their names on like 5 different lists and pick whatever one is first and which one they have a better chance at getting what they want. But your breeder should definitely give the deposit back since her dog did not get pregnant.

Exactly! Stand your ground!

I had the same situation. But I got my deposit back, I dont understand why you can't get yours. After I got the news that mama is not pregnat I got back  in to searching and I found it. And now my puppy is coming home i March....

Pam you will find yours too....Im sending you a positive thoughts...

I agree with everyone. You should be able to get your deposit back and look elsewhere if you want to.

So sorry for your disappointment....I see tha some breeder will not refund the deposit but place towards another littler. But since this is not due to you changing mind, etc...They may be willing to give back the deposit...

Oh, I am so disappointed for you.  :(

I'm sorry. That is so disappointing. I agree with everyone! You should get your deposit back. The non-refundable part should apply when the purchaser decides to not go through with the puppy. The breeder failed to produce a puppy for which you put money down on. They should give it back to you!

I'm so disappointed for you but the breeder should return your deposit since she could not fulfill the contract.

When I was looking for a pup, I first picked out a lovely red golden doodle girl. My mom got sick and I had to take care of her so it ended up that I couldn't take that sweet little girl.  A few months later, I put a deposit with a different breeder on a little blonde golden doodle girl and then found out that the breeder had lied to me and was keeping her breeding dogs in awful conditions so I asked for my money back, got it, and cried for a week while I put away every thing away that I'd bought for her.  But then God dropped Finn on me, and I knew why the other stuff didn't work out.  He was meant for me and there's a very special pup meant for you too.

I would first get my deposit back, then look for a litter that is definitely due soon or even already born, and figure out your work and surgery timing from there. It really does all work out for the best in the long run and the pup just meant for you is out there. Good luck .
