Well after 3 hours of sleep I got in the car for a long car ride to pick up my doodle baby.  It felt like the drive would never end, I just wanted to hold my baby and tell him all about his new life.  I arrived in town an hour early to refill the gas tank, stretch my legs, get some coffee and yes a dozen Krispy Kreme donuts to take home.  We don't have a Krispy Kreme anywhere nearby so this was a big deal!

Finally the time came to get my boy.  He was very happy to see me and gave me a bunch of kisses.  (Something Bear has never done.) I put him in his crate with the door open so he could be next to me.  He slept on my arm the entire way home.  He did get car sick and throw up once but then he fell asleep and had sweet puppy dreams the rest of the trip.

Once we got home he immediately went potty outside.  When we came in I gave him some food and water which he was more then happy to take.  I can tell already he loves to eat.  Bear was always a grazer.  He'd eat a few pieces here and there throughout the day but I think Dexter will be the complete opposite.  He LOVES to eat!

We played with every toy, explored every area of the house and cuddled for hours.  He is the sweetest little boy.  So happy and smart.  I've been taking him out every hour and after eating, drinking, playing, waking up...... He's successfully gone potty outside every time so far.  Hope this continues.  Bear never had a single accident in the house and I know I can't get that lucky twice but here's hoping!

Then it was time to meet his brother.  Bear was SO EXCITED to see Dexter but poor Dexter ran away crying.  I had to hold him and reassure him that Bear was going to be his new best friend.  Now they are peacefully sleeping on the couch next to each other.  I know they are going to be quite the pair.  I am going to have my hands full for sure.

I am completely and utterly exhausted to the point of making myself sick but I am enjoying the moment.  My Bear Bear finally has the playmate he's always wanted.  Here's hoping I get some sleep tonight!

Well last night was a success!  I put Dexter in his crate while I got ready for bed and he began to cry.  Bear went over to him and reassured him.  Then Bear laid down next to him.  Such a good big brother.  Dexter woke up at 3am to go potty and then slept until I woke him up at 9:30am.  Go Dexter!!!

That is so good to hear, especially since you really needed some rest too. Bear is going to be so helpful in getting Dexter trained and feeling right at home.
Awesome!

So glad to hear it! Good job, Dexter!!!

OMD CUTE!!!!  That big smile is all for you!  Love it!! Best wishes and congrats!!

Dexter is by far one of the cutest puppies I think I have ever seen!!!! And I have seen a few!!! WOW, love his coat, his face, his sweet look. Makes me want one just like him!!!! Glad you had a good trip and getting car sick just once is very good actually, for such a long ride. I bet you were exhausted, just from the anticipation of it all!

Good times ahead and keep sending pictures.

Aww thanks!  I was originally interested in his adorable little black brother so I'd have a twin for Bear but then I saw Dexter.  I figured his coloring would be a better choice for the hot Florida sun.  The little black puppy still doesn't have a home and believe me I was tempted to bring them both home! He's like a little black lamb with sweet soulful eyes.  Hard to resist!!

So cute!

OMD what a cutie!  Glad it all went smoothly.

Wow! He is just adorable. Congratulations!

Oh my, Dexter is so darn cute!  You are going to have so much fun with this boy!  Congratulations.  Don't forget to join the multiple doodles group! LOL

Congrats on your little sweetie Dexter!! Oh my, he even looks like a cuddle bug -
