About a week ago we woke to Daisy crying very early in the morning, she had thrown up in one corner of her crate and in the other there was a yellow foamy substance, looked like spit up. We cleaned her up and she seemed okay, ate and drank normally, normal poop, and that was it. Then, this morning when we got up she had another yellow foam puddle in her crate. She wasn't crying or anything and seemed totally normal. I have no clue at what time of night she gets sick. I told the vet about the first incident last week and he said if she was eating and drinking normally it was okay. But with the second incident now I am worried. Could she have eaten something? Is it food related?
Any idea what is going on??
Things to consider:
About a week ago we began her switch to Acana Grasslands, she eats it up and poop is normal, could this have something to do with it?
She had her last round of puppy shots yesterday.
She doesn't get upset or distressed in the crate, she goes right in happily (not emotional throw up I don't think).
We feed her at 7:30 and she goes to bed at 10:30 so there are 3 hrs in between eating time and bed time.
Help. :(

Thank you, you have all helped me very much. :)
I agree with the empty stomach/bile explanation. Tara had this problem as a puppy and I didn't have DK at the time so it took me a while to figure things out. :) But if I gave her a snack before bed and shortly after she awoke in the morning she did much better. It still happened once in a while but much less often.
Lucy has had this problem since she was a puppy and still does to this day. For years we just put up with cleaning up bile every morning. Now we give her a small handful of kibble before bedtime and for the most part the problem is solved. I think sometimes its activity before breakfast that can bring on the reflex so I try to keep her calm (in her crate) while I'm fixing her breakfast.
I agree with everyone else. If Darwin goes too long without eating in the morning this will happen. Giving him a biscuit or some kibble before bed helps.
Yesterday I pushed back her dinner time from 730 to 9 and she woke up this morning, nothing in her crate and she seemed very happy, yay :) thanks everyone I hope this continues to work for her
Yea!!!!
I had a shih-tzu years ago who used to throw up yellow bile after chewing on rawhides. Once I stopped the rawhides, the bile vomit stopped. Just a thought.
Jen this is really interesting, we don't give those to Daisy BUT I have a friend who brought her dog over with a rawhide chew and Daisy was chewing on it for quite some time last week. Either way I will make sure not to give those to her again!
Thank you! :)
