This is very upsetting--apparently, someone in our area threw what is described as a "designer dog" mixed breed into a river nearby with his legs and mouth bound---the dog was found dead on the shore....our local weatherman is an animal advocate and is posting the picture of the dog so that the owner can be identified and brought to justice.
Please don't open the link if it will be too upsetting for you, but I wanted to pass this on in case anyone in the Albany NY area that is a DK member recognizes this dog....I wish I could get my hands on the person who did this to the sweet pup.

UPDATE:
Apparently, he has pled not guilty and told the girlfriend that he gave the puppy away...bet the dog was trying to protect the girl from him and that is why he got rid of the poor puppy...ugh! There is a mug shot of the man--the dog is not pictured here...

I hope they find the person that committed this cruel act. Rest in peace little doodle angel.
They found the guy and are holding him. The dog belonged to his girlfriend. Article says he did this because the dog was having behavioral "issues."Hope there's enough of a public outcry that he gets the max - 2 years in prison.
I am glad they caught him. Unfortunately, under the law, the punishment will not even come close to what this guy deserves.
And the girlfriend needs counselling, so that she can learn not to involve herself with psychopaths in the future. This is serial killer behavior.
Thanks for the update - I hope he rots in you-know-where.
Here is the story--glad they found him--in this area, towns are small--everyone will know what he did and maybe this will follow him for the rest of his life--I hope so--
GLEN FALLS, N.Y. – Glens Falls Police have confirmed an arrest has been made after an investigation into the suspicious death of a dog.
Police say Matthew D Wisell, 28, of Glens Falls was arrested on Friday afternoon. He has been charged with aggravated animal cruelty, which falls under the NYS agriculture and market law section 353.
Wisell is currently waiting to be arraigned on Saturday morning in Glens Falls City Court.
On April 3, the small, tan, mixed designer breed was found near the shore line of Havilands Cove Beach. The dog was two to four years of age, and its muzzle and legs were bound. Police said it appeared as though the dog may have drowned.
"The condition it was found; it was malicious intent, and somebody obviously murdered this animal," Detective Sergeant Peter Casterino with the Glens Falls Police Department said.
A $500 reward was offered for anything leading to the arrests of anyone responsible in the case.
I couldn't open it either. Just sickening.
This totally breaks my heart! Hope they catch these stupid people.
So glad he was caught. Still heartbroken that the punishment won't fit the crime.
