WOW!!! That's very interesting article!!!! WTG!!!! :)
I think if I heard correctly Petsmart just announced it would follow suit. Not sure if either will take sourcing into consideration.
Saw this on GMA this morning. That's great news but I'm just wondering what takes so long? They won't actually stop until the end of the year and Petsmart will take until March 2015 to completely stop selling them. Many more dogs could become ill or die during that time.
I wondered the same thing. The fact that this has been going on since 2007 and they are making changes now? Maybe they have contracts they have to deal with or sell out what they have already placed orders for? Either way, at least they are making changes. And I wonder if they will take sourcing into consideration?
Sadly it has taken this long and even sadder that stores are likely more worried about their bottom line than just immediately pulling and trashing all of the stock they have on hand.
I agree Judi. Now that would be impressive, if they would just pull it all now and take the loss!
That would prove they are doing it for the well being of animals! I agree as well!
It is encouraging even though stopping immediately would be better.

This is great, great news.

The former CEO of Petco adopted an ALD from DRC a few years back. Here's a link to the story:

I'm glad to see that the current Petco CEO is trying to do his best for our pets. :)

This is great news. Maybe more people will become more educated about the quality of the kibbles out there. Yay for dogs everywhere!

That's a good first step, but I'd really like to see them stop selling products with ingredients sourced from China as well.

Agreed! Of course from what I understand they would have to get rid of most of the "big box brands" to fulfill that standard?
