Ok so I will only admit this here..........................I talk to my dogs on the phone or Face Time or Skype!!
Leslie I feel your pain!! We just booked a cruise for July and will be gone for 10 days. I'm already sad and haven't even left yet :(
Ughhh Leslie, you are right!!! She will probably have a blast because we are leaving her with our dogsitter who always has several doodles over and she gets to play in their yard, etc. She always comes home so happy.
I think it is more ME that I am worried about than her, LOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I feel the same way! We have a sitter come in and she sends pictures and updates! You will be busy and will enjoy your trip, though and homecoming is sweet!
Not silly at all... I struggle everytime I leave my Shelby to go on vacation or a business trip! Totally normal. Have some photos/videos loaded on your phone that you can look at each day - it helps me :)
It is hard....very hard. We don't leave them often, but when we do I always miss them....but Yogi will be just fine.
We also have a two week trip this summer. I know it will be wonderful but of course I will miss the doodles. It helps to know they are happy and really enjoy their own vacation at the dog sitters. Wayne likes it so much that he doesn't want to get in the car and come home! I take it as a good sign. :)
Nothing silly about it! I was just in NY for a few days and missed Libby so much! And I'm just her Godmother! I do see her almost every day so when I don't get my daily dose of doodle love I feel lonely! But you and Yogi will be fine and just think how happy you will be to come home! It always makes the end of vacation better!
Leslie ~ I feel the same you do when I have to leave the boys. I have a lady stay in our home so as to not upset their schedules too much. It usually takes Charlie a day or two to eat like he normally does; Beau on the other hand does not seem to let it bother him. Upon our return, Charlie cries like a baby he is so happy we are home and they both physically turn cartwheels when we enter the door. I probably would too, if I could! LOL
Right now I am taking care a mini goldendoodle who's parents are gone for 15 days. I take photos and send them message every other day to let them know what he is doing. He really seems to be having a blast here. He is a "condo" dog and has not experienced the freedom he has here. We treat him like he is one of the pack and we are really enjoying him - he is such a good boy! I would bet your SIL is going to love taking care of Yogi and you will be back home before you know it. Enjoy your trip.
