We may be adding a doodle to our pack

I don't have time to go into the details now but there is a goldendoodle that we may be taking on. He is a 4 hour drive from our home. He is currently in a standard poodle foster care. He is being sponsored by a golden retriever rescue that found him in a kill shelter. He was suppose to be put down that day but they snatched him out of there. The owner relinquished him. He is around 3. He wasn't neutered, the previous owner was thinking of breeding him.... :(

The golden doodle rescued him, got him  a basic clean up, vet check, vaccines, neutered and microchipped. Poodle rescue got him trimmed up so he now looks like a standard poodle but who cares. When he was brought to the shelter he was matted, malnourished and had urine all over him. I've attached a few pictures of before and after. He is about 65 lbs.

We see him this Friday. If he fits well with us and our boys he will be adopted by us. This is our last doodle as 4 is my max.

Sigh, so glad he was rescued.  I hope everything works out for you and this sweet guy.  That face reminds me a lot of my Ellie, although the pictures are really sad...kind of looks like her when she's wet. :)  Eloise once had a bad grooming and even wound up with a shaved face, too. 

He's gorgeous and I'm sure he'll look happy again in no time.  You can see a glimmer of a smile in that 3rd pic.

The urine soaked fur makes me so mad! Kevin has an issue with doing his business in a civilized way and sometimes he soaks his front legs while he goes - and he promptly gets the hose and cleaned up. For months we joked that we were taking Kevin out so he could pee on himself. I've found that a nice patch of cushy grass is the cure, if it's a bare or dried surface (we live in CA, experiencing extreme drought) he squirts everywhere.

I keep looking at that fourth picture and, to me, he looks like he's waiting for you to come get him. I bet that he'll bring you lots of love in return for giving him three furry brothers and a happily-ever-after place to call home. There's something about his face that makes my heart ache for him. He looks confused, yet hopeful. He's also very, very handsome. I'm going to be haunted by that first picture of his owner relinquishing him. Please let us know if he fits in well with your family and your boys.
