Labradoodle & Goldendoodle Forum
Mac is doing well. He finally started eating on schedule (he loves acana so much more than the Kirkland he was on he is actually trying to eat only the acana nuggets while I am trying to do the food swap), sleeping in his crate and coming up to us for attention. Its slow going but I feel like I can see a little spark in his eyes. It will take a while for us to see who he really is but at least he trusts us and gets along with our dogs.
On a completely trivial topic, I am wondering what he might look like when his coat grows out. Ive attached some pictures and ask for your opinions. He does have some coarser hair along his back that is a goldish color. And his tail is straighter than the labradoodles I have (Mac is supposedly a goldendoodle but who knows).
Here are a few pictures and one with him next to Brisby who is a multigen labradoodle. if you have a similar looking doodle when shaved down can you post a picture of what they look like with more coat? Im just curious. I know all of these dog's coats are unique so there are no guarantees what he will look like until it actually grows out.
Sorry the Pictures are a bit blurry!
Another Face shot
And another. Legs are curlier than his back.
And Brisby and Mac (Brisby is in the back with a rose nose and Mac is in front with the black nose):
Thanks and Big Mac and the PB&J sandwich say Hello!

His coat reminds me of Riley's which is a wavy fleece. The shorter it is the curlier it is but when it is long it is wavy. So glad to know he is settling in so well. I think he is one handsome dood :)
Great update on Big Mac. It may take a while, but I'm sure you'll get to the same place you are with the others, as far as personality emerging. As for Mac's coat, it looks kind of shiny in the pics which I would imagine feels soft to the touch. So a soft curly coat is my guess. My Oscar has a coat similar to Brisby's but his (Oscar's) face is much curlier.
Mac is a very handsome boy - I love his big nose too and that very square jaw! The hair on his body almost reminds me of Beau's. We had triple digits for over 30 days (hottest summer in 27 years here in Eastern Washington state) - so I had both of the boys taken down very close. Beau is an ALD, and his hair is supposedly wavy fleece. I always leave their ears long no matter how short the body goes and looking at this photo, I think he needs his brought up a bit! LOL Charlie is also wavy fleece but quite wooly. Beau's coat is very easy upkeep and does not mat easily no matter how long he gets. If you are getting no hair now, I would assume Mac will be non-shedding - don't you. His eyes still look a little sad, but I think some dog's have eyes that look that way in general.
