My mom "helped" to clear the table from lunch and put some leg and wing bones on a plate the counter right by the edge... when I had them safely right in the middle of the dining room table :/
Heard a "crunch crunch" from the other room and caught Luna in the act.. I *think* she just got one, and I'm hoping it was actually one of those cartilage caps from a leg bone.. but who knows.
I checked her mouth for any fragments and didn't see anything. I gave her 2 slices of bread right away and called the vet ER... they said to just keep an eye for any GI issues for 48 hours and wait it out. I'm going to give her some more bread tonight for good measure.
:(
DH and I are very worried... one of DH's friends lost a young dog to eating a chicken bone off the street. Keep your fingers and paws crossed for us!
*update #1*
So far so good this morning... no "evidence" has surfaced but Luna seems to be fine. She loved the bread last night ;)
*Update #2*
Well it's been almost 2 days and Luna seems to be fine :) Phew. No "evidence" so either she digested the bones or it was just cartilage.

Well, so far so good... No news other than Luna REALLY enjoyed her bread last night. ;)
I'm hoping for evidence in her morning poop so I can stop worrying.
Thanks for the kind words and thoughts everyone!
I just saw this....hoping everything is okay this morning. A couple months ago Guinness got into some chicken wing bones, and he was okay...we were very lucky. My Vet said to feed him as much as he would eat of soft food which would wrap itself around the bone splinters. He had one episode of diarrhea afterward and that was it. Good luck.
Just seeing this. Hope all passes without event.
How is Luna doing today?
Fingers and paws crossed here, too. Hoping all is well with Luna.
Keeping good thoughts!
Oh good news indeed.
Glad she is ok so far--we knew someone who fed his dog chicken bones (cooked) for years--finally, it killed the dog--but he was fine for a long time before that--so the odds are on your side.
