Labradoodle & Goldendoodle Forum

Hello everyone,

Our labradoodle, Baxter, is about to turn 7 months old. We live in the Pacific Northwest - specifically, Portland, Oregon. It tends to drizzle or rain a bit on most days here (though we don't often get torrential downpours).

I would like to outfit Baxter with a waterproof doggie raincoat. I was wondering if anyone has any recommendations on brands and where to purchase this sort of thing?

Additionally, I am wondering if anyone has used dog booties and feels like they are worth the expense hassle.

Thanks, everyone!

Best,

Tina

I recommend the Ruffwear brand. All of their products are really good, they are a bit more expensive but it lasts. I know they also sell booties, but I personally never used them yet.

Thanks, Kylee.

At this point, I am looking at Ruffwear and Orvis. I appreciate the recommendation.

I also live in Portland. My all time favorite rain jacket is RC Pets West Coast Metro Slicker, but, sadly, I think I got the very last one off Amazon for Oscar. They stopped making it probably a year ago. Its lightly nylon lined, making it the perfect weight for Pacific NW weather. Their current rain jacket offering is fleece lined, which is really too warm for our average Winter weather. I do like the looks and quality of Ruffwear. Their Sun Shower rain jacket is probably the closest match to the West Coast Metro Slicker.

Thanks for the recommendations, Debb. I will check out Ruffwear.
