What are your fave pet products that kept you sane during those hard puppy months?

Your profile information box already asks you what your favorite doodle product is- mine is Grannick's Bitter Apple Spray. It saved my life, and my leather couch's life (One morning I woke up to stuffing everywhere. I spray it on the tear everyday and it has been untouched since!). It's a non-toxic taste deterrent that has a nasty effect on your pups taste buds. My Nala despises it and stays far away from any furniture that has been sprayed! Affordable and very effective. My puppy is very mouthy, and any dog owner who raised their little baby would understand!

I just thought it'd be fun to read about other experiences and what products helped out different doodle owners. Post your comments below! Which pet products do you consider to be absolutely indispensable? Not only for the puppy months of course but for any stage in their life that proved to be useful to you :-)

Yes, the CD works wonders for car rides too. We had one in the car and one in the house. Not sure if you could download it from iTunes, but that might be an option.
Antlers!! I have recently gotten these. They are more expensive up front than normal chew toys but are amazing for power chewers and last longer than anything else I've found!

I've come across the antlers on Amazon before. They are a bit pricey but they look good! Nala is still a beginner chewer though (thank goodness)

Our Donald loves theses and are great!
Just a word of caution about antlers around puppies: After an emergency surgery to extract a broken baby canine tooth when Oscar was 10 weeks old, our veterinarian dentist informed us puppies should only be given chew toys that pass the thumb nail test. That is, the toy should be soft enough for the nail to leave an impression. Anything harder has the potential to break a baby tooth. It also has the potential to break an adult tooth, but it's far more likely with a baby tooth. For the record, Oscar's tooth was broken from playing tug-of-war with a soft toy with his sister.

Kongs with frozen peanut butter/yogurt/banana inside. I use the puppy kong size because it has a wider opening and you don't have to use a lot of filling. But it keeps them occupied for quite a while.

What kind of yogurt do you use?

What I eat...Fage 0%

Plain? I eat their plain. I wonder if he'd like it. How much yogurt do you give for a treat?

Yes plain. I never measured it:) maybe a Tbs of Yogurt and a tsp or 2 of PB mixed with mashed banana.

We also use canned pumpkin with PB. Use your imagination. There's a lot you can do for filling.

I ALWAYS top it with a crunchy treat that i stick in the mixture. Kind of like a cherry on top:)

I have the puppy kong but I use the kong filling products. They have peanut butter recipe! She goes nuts for it. Though I did hear that plain lowfat yogurt can be a nice frozen treat. I used to freeze banana slices for Nala but she lost interest in them

All natural Bully sticks that don't smell (though they get expensive) and food puzzle toys, like the giant Kong with a hole in it. Also empty water bottles, ice cubes, and bubbles for cheap playtime.
