I'm so glad he doesn't have a liver shunt!
If he wasn't getting enough in the way of vitamins and minerals, maybe that could explain the anemia. I'd ask your vet.
JD gets B12 shots every month, he has IBD and can't absorb enough from his food. The shot should help increase Cooper's appetite, too!
Good news. but the cause of the anemia should be investigated.
Well that's much better news. For some reason this little fellow is anemic?? Here's hoping this resolves very soon and Cooper is bouncing about in good health.
I'm so glad that your instincts told you that something was wrong. Besides the fecal test, did the bloodwork indicate that he has parasites? Wouldn't that show up in his labs, and possibly explain why his red blood count was low?
The fact that it isn't a liver shunt is great news. Here's hoping it's something easily correctable like parasites that have not shown up in the fecal.
yes!!
I'm so glad he doesn't have a liver shunt...hoping for more good news about the anemia! Thanks for the update.
Good news! Hoping the anemia is caused by a common parasite that was missed. Thanks for the update.
Good news about the liver shunt. I am sorry he is anemic and hope the cause and the cure are quickly found.
