Calendar Potentials

That time of year has come. Adina has announced info about calendar submissions which will start on Sept 1. You can post potential submissions here, ask for critiques or ask not to get any, ask for editing suggestions etc. I hope by now everyone is capable of doing simple editing by themselves. I am. Not certain anyone wants to do complex editing for others but there may be takers. The guidelines for submissions are here. Remember the actual submissions go to Adina by email.

If you do submit photos that don't follow the guideline parameters your photo will be tossed by Adina. But even great photos which follow all the rules may not make the calendar since the competition is stiff. Good luck to all.

I agree with DJ.

I do love the last image. If just viewing it in this thread it looks stunning. Pose, background, it has everything. But if you view the actual file rather than what you see in this thread the detail is just not there in the shadow area. The printed calendar shows so much more than what we see here and I'm not sure the quality is there.

(FYI, technically this is not chromatic aberration, but who needs to get that technical.)

You are definitely not a novice but here is the explanation:

Chromatic aberration happens at the edges of dark and light areas. Like a sky with trees.

What you see here is what happens when the shadow area of a file is pushed lighter and there isn't any detail in that shadow area. It's noise and jpg artifacts that are causing this.

That's why I wasn't sure about it.  The original was pretty dark and when I tried to lighten it...that happened!

Both of these photos are super, but I like #2 - his demeanor is so relaxed, happy & playful.  Very nice job!

Both gorgeous but I would pick the second one,  he looks relaxed and happy! I think he's saying he misses me, Tom says he's saying he misses his lap! Great job on the photos!
