She looks somewhat similar to how Ludo looked before getting clipped. I was really pleased with how he turned out, though at first I thought he was a little bit short (I don't think so now). I made sure to tell the groomer that I did NOT want the hair on his nose to be shaved and I was also specific about how his eyebrows should look. (note the difference in color is due to the pre-grooming photo being taken in natural daylight and the post-grooming photo was taken at night in artificial light, though he IS a bit darker with the shorter length). I took in photos of doodles that had nice haircuts and similar coat texture to Ludo so that they could have a clear idea of what I wanted. Hope that helps!
Thanks!!
Thanks for your reply and he is a very hansom boy! did your puppys coat change when it grow back?
He had very straight hair before with literally no curl (hardly even a wave), but now that it's shorter, he does have more texture to it, although it's even softer than it was when his fur was long. It really hasn't grown that much to comment on if it's growing back different... it's only been about 3 weeks. I don't really expect that it'll be a differently textured coat, though. Are you thinking about the coat change from puppy to adult? I think that usually happens around 9 months, and even then, I can't comment on if their coats massively change at that point, though someone might be able to share.
hi well dixie has a slightly cury wave in her coat and she is 7 months and has statred to get her undercoat through which is more corse than the rest! i think she will stay soft though but i am wondering if is goes more curly?
There is a grooming group on here as well if you are going to be doing any of it yourself or want to learn more about what to ask for at your groomers
Charlie was nearly 5 mos before he had his first clip. I took a photo that showed how I wanted him to look, and also very told the groomer she was not to cut his tail at all, and I wanted his ears at least as long as the muzzle. I love the doodle look and ears, head and tails left longer than body is a must.for me. Good luck. Be sure to post of photos of your doodle.
Ivy got her first trim around 6 months. I too said NOT to shave her nose and between her eyes. That is a "poodle" thing and alot of groomers will do it if they are not instructed not to. I said to trim around the eyes and use only the largest comb on the clipper which trimmed about an inch off her coat. Nothing to her tail, and scissor feet and her behind. I was very happy with her look.
she looks great! I am guessing that she was free of mats which made it easier to follow your instructions--to often groomers are expected to work miracles when a pup full of mats comes in the door--keeping her coat in good condition helps so much to keep the look you want!
Oh so true.
