Hi everyone!  I was thinking of ordering Cooper a dog bed from Orvis.com.  It's the "Deep Dish Dog Bed" with memory foam.  I was wondering if any of your doodle has this bed and if he/she likes it.  It has very good reviews.  I bought Cooper a rectangular bed from PetSmart.  He doesn't sleep on it but uses it as a pillow while he is laying on the wood floor.  I thought if I get him the deep dish bed, he can use the side as a pillow.  Thanks in advance for any input!Alternate View

Jack is so handsome! I know I keep saying it!

We need a good bed for Gracie and this one might just be what we are looking for. I need to get her off my bed. She takes up every inch that is available! ;) A few months ago she would sleep with us for awhile and then go to her crate for the rest of the night. Now, she sleeps with us the whole night. I get kicked in the back or scrunched up like a ball. This bed has got to be cheaper than investing a king size! :D

Karen, Have you had to wash the cover and how easy is it to take off and get back on?

I have not. So far, I've only had to wash the blanket I keep over it. I'm guessing that the taking off is easier than the putting back on, though. :)

I'd add that out of 707 customer reviews for this bed, 606 of them gave it 5 out of 5 stars, and only 6 people (less than one percent) gave it one star. In fact only 46 out of 707 people gave it less than 4 stars. So I think that says something, and I am sure that if it was a real hassle to wash the cover, for this kind of money we'd hear about it, lol.

Thanks, Karen. I always keep a blanket on all of their beds and wash them frequently. Every morning I wake up and Vern has dug around so much in each bed, the blankets are on the floor. I do try :)

It's lovely to see this picture of Jack on his great bed :)

Thanks, Nicky. :)

We don't have this bed, but did have one from Costco that never got used. What I have found, with Oscar at least, is that he runs hot, so although he loves the comfort of our memory foam mattress on our bed he prefers the cool floor (especially lying next to an open window). Lucy, OTOH, sleeps on what we call, the Annex, a heavy oak coffee table we converted into a raised dog bed, with a 3" memory foam mattress. It sits at the foot of our bed and coincidentally is the exact same height as our bed, so she can lay half on our bed and half on the annex if she chooses. The reason she doesn't ever sleep totally on the bed with us, I think, is because she gets too warm next to our bodies. My point is, you have to factor in the dog's sleeping preferences, especially whether they like it cooler or warmer. Orvis beds are really nice beds, btw.
Thank you Debb for your input. I do think Cooper prefers the cool hard wood floor over the bed. I don't know why I keep wanting to make him more human! LOL. I know it's quite an expensive bed, but I'm willing to try it one more time and hope he'll like it. Maybe eventually he'll grow into it...cross my fingers!

Btw very creative on using the coffee table. :)

We have a similar bed (actually, two) for Wally and Charlotte, but the bolster goes all the way around. There is a lot of cushioning to the pad, and if you wanted, you could even put extra foam underneath. This one has no memory foam, and for my two this is positive, as memory foam tends to hold their body heat and can be firmer than expected. Ours is available in four sizes and multiple colors, and is from Jax & Bones. The Orvis bed looks good, too. This is just another option.

How do you wash these?
The Orvis bed has a removable washable cover.
