RIP Bear

My beautiful boy's battle with mast cell carcinoma is over. He fought so hard for almost a year and his kidneys stopped working on Sunday. He was in pain and could barely walk so I scooped up all 60 lbs of him and took him to the vet to say goodbye. The funeral home came in and gently placed him in a casket and took him straight to their place to be cremated. He was back home with me the next day.

My heart is broken into a million pieces. He was my world. My entire life. My best friend. Seven years were not enough.

This place was where I went when I first brought him home and was such a helpful resource throughout his life. Thank you to everyone for sharing your wisdom throughout the years. I know when it's time for a new best friend that I can come back here for help in finding the right one.

Rest in peace my sweet Bear Bear. I love you to the moon and back.

I recently lost my beloved 6 year old labradoodle to cancer;  my heart goes out to you.  I am so very sorry for the loss of your precious Bear.

I am so sorry for your loss.  Bear obviously had a beautiful soul.  You can see it in his face.

I am in tears for you.  I know many times over how very hard this is.  Please remember though that reason your heart is in a million pieces is that Bear took a small piece of it with him when left you.  But he also left you a small piece of his heart for you, so as your heals and comes together again, it will feel a little different because it will now contain a piece of Bears heart forever.  Thinking of you in your grief and as you heal.

I am so heartily sorry for your loss.  My heart aches for you.....no more pain for Bear.  Take it day by day....some will be harder than others, but stay strong and think of the happy memories.
