For this assignment we will focus on your dog running towards you.
I've provided the guideline in pdf form as it doesn't clutter up the top of every page in the discussion. I know we would all rather see pictures!
I've tried to make it as simple as possible. There are things I recommend doing and not doing, but please note that I am trying to make it as easy as possible to get your dog in focus.
Please read the pdf attached. Let me know if you see anything that needs to be explained better or added to make this as user friendly as possible.
Also please state your camera settings with each photo: ISO, shutterspeed, aperture, and focal length.
And happy shooting!

I actually like both crops. I prefer your tighter one because it is what we have all been taught for a calendar photo. But I also see the benefit of having the water for him to "move into". All things considered though, I do prefer the tighter one.
Thanks, Lori!
Adorable! So glad you are finally able to go to the lake again!
Thank you! It didn't end well...some a$$ shot off fireworks...sounded like a cannon...and Fudge spent the rest of the day and night upset. Middle of the day, no less. I am praying we have no problems when we go back.
I took the dogs by myself yesterday out for a pontoon ride. It all went well until I tried to park the pontoon boat. LOL I was so embarrassed. My neighbors were having some kind of get together and they could all see me struggling. Having two boats on the lake creating a huge wake was not helping. I finally had to call a neighbor to help :) Needless to say, I did not bring my camera.
I think my favorite is the second. I was thinking that I really wanted the angle to be more on his level but realized you'd have to be in the water for that. LOL
LOL...you know I would try if I thought it would help :)
I think I like the photo in its original crop better. You could maybe add a "smidge" more at the bottom but not too much. Adding too much lessons the impact of the dog's expression for me, but then I like tight crops. These are all really great though and I love the experimentation!
Thanks, Cheryl!!
I think you did great!!
great job nailing the focus!
