Labradoodle & Goldendoodle Forum

Thanks everyone for all your comments. I'm closing this discussion now. I've found Rudy a wonderful home very close to mine. My new doodle will come soon.

I have a doodle on order (2nd dog) - then I've had the opportunity to care for a standard poodle puppy (4 Months).
He's just adorable. Is there a reason I should just not keep him - he needs a home - Yes, he is prissy looking but his disposition is fabulous. I don't know what to do. I don't enter into the care of dogs lightly.

He is adorable and looks like he and Fergie have already bonded. He doesn't look prissy at all just cute and cuddly.
Wow, what gorgeous pile of love. Fergie looks like he has made your decision for you. Like one of the others commented...if you let the new one's snout fur grow out, it will look just like a Doodle. Regardless whether the snout is shaved or if that is natural...he looks adorable. Beautiful color too!! Poodles that are left "natural" are totally Doodleish looking. I say they look like they totally belong together and keep them that way.

That is one cute puppy! I agree with the others that you have a known quantity here--the dog is lovely and has a good disposition and gets along with your doodle! Who could ask for more? You can groom him to look much more like a doodle than a poodle--If you read through some of the entries people have written about their doodles, they have all sorts of personalities--some are easier to deal with than others, even though we LOVE them all. This little guy is a winner and you don't really know what the new puppy will be like. There is no guarantee of temperament, coat type, size, etc. in my opinion.
Good luck--its a tough decision--especially if you have your heart set on the doodle puppy.
I just LOVE the comments for you on this one!! I was very entertained reading them all and I AGREE with them ALL!! Those two were meant to be together and he is ADORABLE!! You should read my blog on the "Doodle Secret Ingredient"..... Your doodle is ADORABLE too. You can choose to let his face grow out and then he will just look like a curly doodle. We've done that with our poodles. I don't mind the face shave though. As for the 3rd dog well.....if it were me I'd keep him too, but then again, I have 5 dogs!! LOL!! My family thinks I have lost my mind and I have to admit it is a house full of fun and commotion. I guess that comes with the territory when you're a breeder, but I have reached my limit, because our dogs are not just for breeding, they are our pets and companions. I'm sure you will make the right decision if you follow your heart.......DH will find a way to cope, I know mine did! LOL!
If you need to ask if you should find another home then your heart has sealed the deal
Welcome to the family, Poodle Puppy!!!
I would keep the poodle pup. He already fits into your family. You all love him, he loves you. Why upset anything. He isn't a doodle but he is wonderful, and a half doodle. You were meant for each other. On the other hand we had a found puppy for a while before we got Ned. We had her for 3 weeks before we found a home for her. We still miss her and often look at the pictures we took. We knew from the get-go that she wasn't right for our family because she was a teeny chihuahua and we had two 50 - 60 pounders and a big doggie door. Still we cried when we left her at her forever home. Just think you won't have to.
I love poodles. You shouldn't be embarresed one bit!! He is absolutely gorgeous! I would love to take him if you decided it wasn't a right fit but I personally would tell you you would be out of your mind for passing up this beautiful pup!
I was not going to comment-but I just have to. How could you let him go? He is so sweet. I know what ever you do will be the right thing.
He's beautiful! I think you should keep him and it looks like Fergie thinks so too!
Keep him. He is a doll, and it looks as if he fits in well with your family :)
Keep him, Keep him, Keep him!! What a pair!
Well, I guess we have made our feelings clear! We are all such suckers for that adorable face! Has this persuaded you to keep him?
