Has anyone else seen the article on the Honda Element dog car. It looks really cool. I love the idea of dogbone embossed rubber mats and a built in ramp. The article from USA Today has a video that looks like it features a doodle.

I heard about it today. The funny thing is, a lot of people who use dog crates in their vehicles for transporting dogs love the Element, because the boxy shape lends itself to the crates. I think Honda must be aware of the Element's popularity with the dog-owner demographic, but they aren't understanding the reasons. The built-in water bowl and dog bed would be useless to anyone who crates their dogs in the car, lol!
The ramp is a nice feature.

I have a two door volkswagen EOS...any suggestions on type of crate to use in back seat? Also wondering about a ramp?

I love the concept, but there's not enough room for my two. We actually looked into getting a Honda Element, but the rear cargo area (with the back seat up) would only have been comfortable for our smaller dog. It definitely would not hold both of them. We travel on vacation with our two, and long trips require a little more room. The car we ended up with has plenty of room for both dogs with room to spare. We've been on three long road trips (1 to 1.5 days of traveling) and the extra room really comes in handy.

What car did you end up with? I have 3 dogs and the Element was not going to be big enough for me either.

We did a lot of research before buying our "dog car".  We went to the auto show in February with a tape measure in hand.  ;)  Long story but I am now driving a Toyota Highlander.  The cargo area has plenty of room for three doodles.
