my doodle doesnt have a name help!!

So i finally got my precious little doodle yesterday but dh and i cant agree on a name whatsoever....ive been calling her puppy (duh) and ruby....my dh thinks that sounds like an old ladys name.....any help...what do u think she looks like? my mom said she better have a before she sees her grandpuppy again lol...shes really mellow likes to sleep all day.....prances like the poodle in her...im nowhere close to naming her and i feel bad!

I like the name Noga, which mean bright star. I also like Irish names...good luck in picking a name...can't wait to see more pics of her...she is adorable.

Thanks Lynne! As for Ruby, I was going to name my next female dog Ruby - for 11 years!!!! Except that we got males however none of them was red either and I didn't care. So if you like Ruby, go for it, however I don't think she looks quite like a Ruby. I like food names like Mango or Olive; jewel names like Opal, or names from books I liked. My DIL just named her new Whippet pup, Pippi after Pippi Longstocking. Based on her looks (not personality) I kind of like Olive or Opal.

how i got Bella's name was we were watching a movie Bella and we thought of calling her that and it stuck. But what i have told people is try some names when you are mad at her and see how it will come out, that's always a good way to figure out her name and also she might pick her name out herself i have heard of that also.


Have fun with her. Take a ton of picture they grow up sooooooooooooooo fast.

I always like to have a name and a nickname for my dogs. I use the nickname for everyday and the real name for when I mean business. I once had a 60 lb. husky we called "Baby" for six months because we got stuck trying to figure out a name. We finally called him Thor and he answered all his life to either name.

Your puppy looks sweet, but a little spicy, mischievious. How about "Rika" short for paprika which is sweet and spicy. Princesss Di or Lady Di, Princess, Lady or Di for short or Diana like Dianthus which have a spicy sweet smell like carnations. Or how about just plain Sugar - short for Sugar and Spice. Sunny short for Sunny Delight? - then her "call" name could be Sunny D.

We pretty much had our minds made up that we were going to name our pup Bella...until we saw her and the breeder had given her the name Gidget and she was SOOOO definitely a Gidget :) So, I added Isabella as her middle name, lol. Gidget Isabella :)
