Calling all Texas Doodles!

- About Me:
- A therapist who was so touched my the grief dogs in Newtown, CN that I decided I would train Sadie to be a therapy assistance dog. Pets have a wonderful way of touching people where humans can't. It is an amazing connection. 7 yrs ago I was experiencing a very painful time in my life. I adopted 4mo. old Barney a Tibetan Terrier/possibly poodle mix. Next to God, he was an integral part of my healing.
- What Type of Doodle(s) do you have? What are their names? Tell us about your doodle(s) or any other pets you have!
- I have an F1B Goldendoodle named Sadie. Sadie was born September 13, 2012. She is 7mo. old now and just got neutered last week. She is a great dog. She learned how to sit and lay down after I had her for one week. She is a bit of a chewaholic right now, but that's adolescence for you! Sadie has an 8yr. old mixed breed brother named Barney who has a great disposition. He loves to play chase and tug o war with Sadie.
- Where did you get your doodle(s)?
- Breeder
- Why did you choose a doodle rather than another breed or mix?
- Great personality, no shed and hypoallergenic for most people.
- What are Your Favorite Things to Do With Your Doodles?
- Train her and play with her and watch her play with her brother Barney. She lays in wait for him and tries to ambush him when he rounds the corner of the love seat. Hilarious! If he ignores her, she whines and nips at his tail and legs to get him to give in and play with her. Once he does, they are off to the races as they zoom around the yard chasing each other.
- Does your doodle(s) shed?
- Nope!
- Who grooms your doodle(s)?
- I do....learning that is.
- Favorite Doodle Products?
- The steel comb. The best advice I got from a groomer was to comb Sadie every day. Her hair is primarily curly with wooly on her back. I have clipped her twice now and she tolerates it pretty well. I clip stray hairs as I see them later. I scissor cut Barney most of the time. With two dogs grooming costs are out of sight.

Thanks Janie :) Your puppy is adorable too. I can't believe how much I enjoy looking at all the other dog pics.-- especially since I couldn't care less about them before I got mine! LOL
I'm new to TX and have seen Pflugerville on the map- but would love to get together too. Looks like the Central TX group is picking up, which is nice! Maybe we can plan a romp sometime soon with everyone.

Welcome! This is a great place to learn/share about doodles. There are many groups that you can join. For example, there are groups for grooming, nutrition, health/medical, types of doodles, puppy groups etc. Look at the top of your page and click on Groups - check them out. Enjoy!
Welcome to DK! Lots of good info. on here. I'm a first time puppy owner, so it's been a HUGE help to me :) Sadie Mae is adorable-- she's 4 mos. older than my Holmes.

You will get to know some of the most amazing Doodle lovers ever and they are by far, the most caring people I have ever met, without actually meeting them!
