About Me:: I'm a very active senior enjoying my retirement in the Catskill Mountains of New York. I lived in Manhattan most of my life so its my dream come true to live here. I love cooking, bird watching (mostly hawks and bald eagles) watching the stars at night and hiking. I love laughing and keeping things fun.

What Type of Doodle(s) do you have? What are their names? Tell us about your doodle(s) or any other pets you have!: I have a standard chocolate Labradoodle male named Mojo. I brought him home at 8 weeks old and he was a wild boy, jumping and tearing my clothes and nipping me. With constant training, good treats and clicker he is now becoming such a good puppy He still has a lot to learn.. I don't have any other pets.

Where did you get your doodle(s)?: Breeder

Why did you choose a doodle rather than another breed or mix?: This is my second dog, my first was a Siberian Husky, she was the most amazing dog and sadly she swallowed an acorn whole and it was lodged in her lower intestines, she died shortly after surgery January 19th. She shed a lot and my daughter was allergic to her so after she passed I decided on a Labradoodle because they're smart and may not shed much and maybe my daughter wouldn't be as allergic to it as other dogs. And also because Labradoodles are so adorable with great sense of humor.

What are Your Favorite Things to Do With Your Doodles?: Playing fetch, cuddling, walking him in places that are exciting to him. I can't wait till we can swim together, he is just learning about water and slowly getting to like it.

Does your doodle(s) shed?: Nope!

Who grooms your doodle(s)?: At 4 months he had his first grooming and I keep up with brushing, cleaning his ears and a bit of trimming untill next groom

Favorite Doodle Products?: Stuffed moose, balls, food puzzles and kong plus his 2x a week marrow bone.

Relationship Status:: In a Relationship

Would you be willing to Dog Sit on occasion for other DoodleKisses members? (You are NOT committing to anything by saying yes - you are just saying you might be willing to do this if you were acquainted with the other member and the circumstances were right.): Yes

I am familiar with some of the areas near Oneonta and Cooperstown. My daughter went to college in Oneonta. The Catskills are also a beautiful area like the Adirondacks. I hope you enjoy your trip to see the leaves this fall.

I think Mojo may have been a little more curly as a small pup than Doc but not by much! How old is he now? Do you remember how much he weighed at 8 weeks.. and now? He is gorgeous! Doesnt look like he has lightened much at all as I am understanding may happen to chocolate doods...

When you commented on Charlie's page about his trauma yesterday, and that your doodle was recently neutered, I just had to look you up. I hope Mojo will recover quickly. It appears we have several things in common - we are both retired, active, love hiking and doodles! I read in your profile where you lost your beloved husky in Jan and for that I am so sorry. I lived in the Seattle area (north actually in Edmonds on Puget Sound). We retired about 5 years ago and moved across the Cascades to the sunshine. We built a new home in Richland and are very close to the Columbia River and wine country. We are definitely enjoying this smaller community in the sunshine and enjoy so much less traffic than we had in the city. Charlie is a medium ALD and he is now 19 mos old. He is just the sweetest dog I have ever had. We lost our standard poodle in 2010 and I started researching different breeds and came across Australian labradoodles. I am so glad I did. We are getting a second puppy around Oct 9th. I have never had two dogs in my life! I do hope it goes well. I have enjoyed being a member of this site and connecting with other doodle owners. I look forward to seeing lots of photos of Mojo - he is very very handsome boy. I just love the chocolate doodles. Our new little puppy though is a parti (choc & cream). I hope he will be the perfect match for Charlie B.

I hope he heals very quickly!

Jack is my first male, and I was amazed at how quickly he recovered from the neuter surgery, much faster and easier than my girls when they were spayed.
