Labradoodle & Goldendoodle Forum

Today we took the doodles to a new dog park up by Portland Community College, just a mile and a half away from our house. There were no signs at all directing the way, but we knew it was there because we'd read about it in the paper. Turned out we were the only people (and dogs) for the first 10-15 minutes, so we took the opportunity to throw the Kong flyer for Oscar to retrieve (Lucy ran after it too, and she was usually the first to touch it with her nose, but she left it to Oscar to pick up and retrieve). Then, wouldn't you know it, another owner and her doodle arrived.  After talking to the owner for a few minutes it dawned on me that her doodle, Maisy (a med. Goldendoodle), was a puppy in Lucy's puppy romp sessions over 4 years ago! What a small world :) Then, another doodle and his owner arrived. A 75lb., 18 mo. old Goldendoodle named, Marley. So, 4 doodles in this relatively unknown new dog park on a beautiful, sunny Sunday afternoon, and none of us had any clue other doodles would be there. All the doodles got along so well. Oscar really loved chasing Marley around the park and they had a great time. I can tell this new dog park is going to become a favorite of ours. What a find!

Glad you had a good day and met some doodle friends!

Sounds awesome!

What fun! I love wonderful coincidences like that!

Sounds like a great day! I always love when other doodles come to the park- Ragley always migrates towards them. I swear those doodles know they belong together!

Sounds like a great day!

Sounds like a wonderful time.

Nice to hear a dog park story with a happy ending!!  I really think doodles "get" other doodles!  Maybe there should be "doodle only" parks :)

That sounds like a wonderful day Debb, I bet Lucy and Oscar had so much fun!

Cheryl I was just thinking the same thing, Max loves other doodles and I wish I could find some place just for doodles, I do see a lot of them around my town.

That's just too fun!

Sounds like a fun day!

What a great find!  And then to have your very own doodle romp--well, just doesn't get much better. :)

That was just perfect! a private impromptu doodle romp. My park often has 4-6 doodles at a time when I visit. They do tend to seek each other out and play together in their own special doodle ways. Great find!
