Rooney here - I'm gunna do the typing because Stuart's paws are too big for the keyboard - size matters I guess. My mom has told us that we were taking a road trip - woo hoo - we love those, to a place called Michigan - daddy calls it the frozen tundra of the north and then mom gets mad. Me and Stuart have been there before but not for long and this time we are gunna stay. I always get nervous when my mom starts dragging luggage around the house - I get worried she will leave me behind - and I don't like that and this time - jeez - she was packing for an entire week but we are going to be gone a lone time and most of the stuff was for me and Stuart. The Puppy Hauler 2011 was full! Mom was mad because she couldn't find room for one of our big dog beds and her golf clubs didn't make it either, but Stuart and I got food, toys, treats, leashes, grooming stuff - heck - all of our stuff made it so what is the problem right?
Daddy is going to fly to the Michigan next week because mom said there was no room for him the puppy hauler. Luckily for me and Stuart we have our own row of seats. My mom is sorta crazy - duh - but she is safety conscious and makes us wear our safety harness, we are buckled in. Stuart is so lazy chill - that doodle just sleeps the whole way unless we take a potty break, and between you and me - I think Stuart is a little ADD (attention deficit doodle) cause sometimes he is so busy sniffing other dog's pee and squirrel tracks and stuff that he won't go potty. Yep - he travels with his pillow.
I don't want to brag but I have to help my momma. She drove 586 miles today in 9 hours - shhhh - I think she is an illegal vacuum salesman because I heard her talking about a "fuzz buster". I ride in my car seat and try to watch my momma's blind spot, I do sleep but not as much as my brother. If I could only learn how to use the remote - I'd be able to watch Animal Planet DVDs on the screen but mom says no.
We finally got to my momma's daughter's house in Atlanta, mom called her house a "pit stop" - not sure what that is but I guess we are here till Monday. We like it here because she has a lab named Cal and a fenced in yard so we have lots of fun. One thing we really LOVE is Cal's food - I think the brand is called JUNK cause that is what momma calls it, it tastes so good but gives me a tummy ache (Stuart can eat anything) and my mom hides Cal's food dish. Why don't we get to eat JUNK, stuck with Orijen again - sigh.
Tomorrow is a special day - we are going back to Beamer's house - that is Stuart's brother, my step brother I guess. And we are going to meet with another brother named Foster, I guess the other brother couldn't make it but maybe in the fall. What the doodle will I do with 3 Stuart's running around. Enough for now - I'm going to go take a nap - it has been a long day. xoxox Rooney Doodle
******UPDATE
Yesterday was Stuart's family reunion at Jo & Beamer's house. Since my dd was going to be working from home for the day I decided that it would be best for Rooney if he stayed with her while I took Stuart to see Beamer and meet for the 1st time his other brother Foster. I was worried that Rooney might get a little "bossy" as he always thinks he is the alpha - lol. We had a GREAT reunion. Sadly out of almost 200 hundred pictures - I don't think I was able to get a good one of all 3 boys. Trying to get them to sit still was like trying to herd pigs - crazy. A fun time was had by all. Beamer as you recall is almost Stuart's exact twin but he is a touch taller and his fur is so soft - Beamer also doesn't swim where as Stuart and Foster are hard to keep outta the pool. Foster is a beautiful color - he has their mom's beautiful red golden retriever coat - such a nice boy too.

Sounds like great fun Rooney. I drove half way across Canada with my Mom and Dad last year. I loved it! Enjoy the trip. Cooper.
Have a safe and fun trip.
Have a great trip Rooney--you look pretty cool in that car seat--take good care of your momma and Stuart!
Rooney, I hope you and Stuart take good care of you Fuzz Bustin Mamma.....safe trip to you all. Keep us posted!
Rooney, what an excellent adventure u are having....and what fun u seem to be having with Cal..He looks like a cool guy...Wish my Mom would take me on a road trip. I know the feeling when you see all the suitcases...But you got lucky, you got to go with her...I see my Mom in her closet pulling out stuff, uh oh, she does this before she puts all the stuff in a suitcase....Well I am going to be with my friend Mr.Sprinkles for 2 weeks..And his mom and her kids love me...(well everyone loves me) but I know my Mom call everyday to see how I am doing...This is the first time my brother Renny won't be with me, but I like them all, and they take such good care of me...I too like to sneak that Junk Food, Sprinkles loves that stuff, so Mom will have to tell his Mom that I am not allowed to have that stuff, but doesn't mean I won't sneak a few pieces...Anyway keep us posted on your travels, I guess I can say I am jealous, but maybe someday I will get to go on a long roadtrip...Your friend from Florida...Oliver
Good morning, Rooney!
If you have a chance to read this before you leave Atlanta, ask your mom to stop first at the Emory University Bookstore, so that she can get you an Emory fleece blanket. I have one; it's made of sweatshirt material and it's very comfy. If Stuart has his own pillow, it's only fair that you get your own blanket. That way, you can be extra cozy should you decide to take a nap in that snazzy car seat of yours.
Oh, please tell your mom that my mom says, hi, and let her know that when my family comes back to Florida in January (Yes, we drive, too.), I'd like to come over again and introduce you to my new sister. My mom hasn't officially told me the big news yet, but I've overheard lots of discussions at home about possible girl names. She's definitely too old to have any more human children, so I have deduced that I'm probably going to get a sister. That makes me very excited -- Yippee, Yippee, Tail Wag! If we could Skype, you'd see that I'm doing a happy dance!
Safe travels, and enjoy Michigan, my friend.
Your bud, Wally
Wally - I would love you to bring your new sister over this winter - I was hoping for a sister too but then mom got Stuart so I think I'm stuck with him. The best thing is that you will have someone to play with all the time and you get to teach her new stuff, oh and that you are her boss - hee hee.
Hey Rooney - where are you headed in Michigan? I asked my mom and she says that's where we live! Maybe we'll be close enough to come see you. You sure do have a cool ride - and it's great that you each have your own row; Cloud, Jake and I all want to sit in the same spot mostly but I'm the quickest so I usually win (teehee). Enjoy your vacatoin. - Clifford.
I asked my mom and she said we live in the S. W. corner of MI in a place called Saint Joseph. It is on Lake Michigan but that does not make me happy - I hate water. Stuart is excited to go swimming. My momma says we are staying there till mid-September so lets try to find a way to play together.
Rooney,
Now that sounds like fun--of course, I get car sick but I would certainly 'buy a coping skill' to be able to hang out with you and Stuart and your canine friends. Have a great trip and stay safe!
Phoebe
Rooney -
You look ridiculously cute in your car seat and harness! I love how you as the big brother are looking out for your mom! You look serious about that! Sorry your mom hides the "junk" food from you...but she's doing what's best for you! Have a safe trip and have lots of fun! I look forward to hearing more of your adventures!
