I picked up my big goofball this morning.  He has a cone, and has already sliced up the back of my legs with it.  I anticipate some paint touch-ups by the time our four days of cone time is done.

The vet sent the thing away to pathology, but doesn't think it was anything to worry about.  Just "one of those things" that happens sometimes.  Toby is on Rimadyl once a day for pain, and Novolexin as an antibiotic because he's done the self surgery at home.  :)  The bandaid and cone come off on Monday and the stitches come out in 10 days.  He's limping, but I would be too if I was walking on a foot I had stitches in.  I'm glad to have him home!

They said he was a doll - not that that surprised me.  :)  However, being the klutz that he is, he spilled all his food and stepped in the water dish, causing them to have to change his bandaid again before he came home today.

Glad to hear it all went well.  Maybe you can spend a lot of down time with his head in your lap.  That way he won't have to wear the cone as much.  When Gracie is recovering from something, I decide that those few days will be quiet time where I am busy at the computer with her by my side where I can keep an eye on her without a cone on.  I am still getting work done...just not the cleaning and running around stuff.  Give Toby a big kiss on the nose from us!!!
Hope the days fly fast and he's back to normal soon!!!!
Glad to hear that he is home safe!!  Hopefully he will feel better soon!
Here are a couple of pictures of Toby and my son.  Sadly, Toby is starting to regain his strength after a meal and several drinks of water and has no way to exert his energy.  It could be a long four days.

Has Toby lost weight??  He looks smaller in these pictures!
No - despite the fact that he is on Light and Fit Acana, he still weighs 80 pounds, much to the vet's dismay.  :)  I chalk that up to Toby's laziness.
so sweet!
So glad you and Toby are together again! Hoping he heals very quickly and gets that cone off. ;o)
Sounds like everything is going relatively well. I know how you feel about the cone, it's a hazard. LOL
I'm so glad Toby is back hame with his mommy and getting peaceful rest. Poor guy, I'd probably knock over my food bowl and step in my water if I had to balance myself on one foot with a cone around my neck, lol. Herc, Zeus, & I wish Toby a speedy recovery.
I am very glad to hear that Toby's ordeal is over and the healing can begin.
What did I miss? What happened to Toby?
