Hello everyone, I'm so excited about being part of this group. I to am a new owner of a beautiful Goldendoodle. She is 14 weeks old, to make a long story short; I originally got this dog to help my 23 yr old, who is trying to figure out his life (lol), but who seriously was getting a little down on himself. He had been mentioning wanting to get a labradoodle, but once I found out that-Goldendoodles exsisted (sorry, I guess I'm a little sheltered, when it comes to the dog world), I immediately new, that's what we were getting! I knew nothing about Goldendoodles' and bought mine from a pet store, because I didn't know any better and quiet frankly, although I paid money, I still feel like I recued Emma from the bad place! Ok, I promised a short story; got her for my son, surprised him with her when he came back from taking a test for law enforcement. (Which he was bumped about because he missed it by three points). He was blessed to get Emma-nothing like a boy and his dog, no matter what age! All this to say, we are all in love with Emma, but as a new owner, I have lots to learn about this breed. And, although I got her for my son, I guess he's gonna have to get one for himself-when he moves out!!! LOL!

Hi Pam,  Too Funny, I felt the same, "what was I thinking" I would say.  My friends all agreed.  Breezy was a difficult pup and did not have DK to help.  But it is so worth it.  You will love this furry baby so much it will work.  Good luck and keep us updated.

They are the best things that come into your life at this point. Besides grandkids of course..lol. Mine furry kids have kept me energetic and healthy. Plus, we've met soooo many new "dog people" and wonderful friends!!!!! Soooo worth it!!!!!!

That's funny Pam. I found myself worrying before we got Yogi after reading a lot of the posts on here. But he has been such an easy puppy to raise. Just choose your temperament wisely and enjoy.

LOL Pam...you'll do fine! I have to admit, there were ( are) times when I think : " what the heck was I thinking"????? It has been 13 yrs since our last puppy and had forgotten all the work and energy. BUT, they are so worth it!

I am worried I am not going to be able to keep up with this pup after reading about the antics of everyone's doodles.

Hi Pam and welcome! You are in for such a treat! May I suggest joining the Puppy Madness Group and the Training Group. And the Food Group too! Such a wealth of information to be had from some very knowledgable folks.

Welcome, Pam.  Lots of the things you think you need are more down the line, but if you are going to crate, you will need that as well as clean up supplies and a toy or two.  Continue whatever food your pup was on at the breeders for two weeks and then you can transition it to something else.

Join the Puppy Madness, nutrition, and grooming groups.

Welcome Pam! I'd say check into puppy madness. Lots of info pertaining to
your questions. Our pup is 5 months now and this website is so helpful. Also check the food group for recommended kibbles to give your doodle a good start.

Welcome to a fellow RN!
